Actual plot of the movie aside, I think that the fighter portions of the movie was the one thing that they really nailed.
I actually got hyped when you saw the waves of water in the background from the X-Wings coming in. The dogfighting was pretty glorious and more dynamic than the previous movies. The Starkiller Base invasion was also pretty good and that pseudo-Death Star run was awesome. I actually liked all the details they put in like the communication they had.
I'm kind of sad though that there wasn't much fighter diversity though. X-Wings were great and all but I really wanted to see the Y-Wings, A-Wings, and B-Wings again. You would think that Y-Wings which were made for bombing would have been brought along for that mission.

I thought they were alright at best. The pacing, as with the rest of the movie, were too fast and the cuts were too quick. It just reminded me of the prequel space battles but with better CGI.

I actually thought the fighter parts were some of the least Star Wars parts of the movie. While they were visually impressive, they lack the gravitas and weight of the fighter battles from the Original Trilogy.

Bright is also handled really strangely.
I took a 3 months break from finishing Zeta to watching ZZ and it ended up as one of my favorites.
The first 20 episodes are probably some of the funniest shit I'll ever see.

It doesn't need to be either. A random animator may have just stuck them in because he liked them. All it takes is a supervisor who either doesn't notice or doesn't care, which is entirely possible.
