How can Gundam's popularity be revived in the West now?
It really can't.
CN dropped the ball hard during the boom years and the novelty of Gundam has faded pretty hard since. Even if Wang were brought back for whatever reason, new viewers probably wouldn't be interested.
Then there's fucking Bandai which closed up shop here because we wouldn't pay overpriced JP prices for shit or buy a gorillion copies of Crossfire. Think Discotek can afford to license BD versions of Gundam series? Fuck no. Bandai could've given us some already though if they hadn't taken their ball and left.

Show 00 Gundam on an endless loop until people like it. It is basically the only Gundam series remaining that has any kind of mainstream appeal. I would like to believe that if Turn-A was dubbed it could find an audience, but that doesn't seem realistic given its lack of "badass" action.
Can we talk about transformative designs in Gundam?
Because they're all awful. Why can't Gundam do transformatives well?
Some of them are good. Like Zeta and all of its direct descendants, Messala, Asshimar...
There's obviously a lot more bad ones than good like holy shit the fucking Epyon. I'm guessing it has a lot to do with the fact that making toys and models transform wasn't easy for the toy companies to do with Gundam designs. Zeta didn't get a properly proportioned fully transforming model or toy until years after Zeta aired.

For those who may be interested, Infrapink finished reuploading their RAWs of classic SD Gundam not too long ago. Unfortunately, the Wacky Races episode of Mk-IV is not included in the box set due to copyright issues. The best version currently in circulation is on Laserdisc. If I may make a vain request to anybody reading this that is capable of obtaining the ISO and encoding it (RX, Clutchins, Bunny Hat... OZC? Anybody!), please, PLEASE do so. Otherwise, we'll be forced to use those shitty VHS hardsubs for...

Holy shit. SD is the last VHS/Laserdisc Gundam we were dealing with. This is fantastic. To bad the originals were hardsubbed, otherwise even shitty muxing skills could get this going.

Well then you are pretty much shit out of luck.
The whole fucking concept of mechas is unrealistic and silly and nips can accept this fact so there aren't too many shows that tries to be realistic. I guess Ghost in the Shell and MADOX-01 are closest to what you are looking for.

Does anyone else find the failure to scale tanks in Gundam shows kinda hilarious? One scene they are up to a Zaku's shins,another scene they are this size.
And Magella-cannon Zakus seem to imply that this size is the canon size despite other more consistently animated Gundam shows having them much smaller.

Scale inconsistencies on the Magella cannon versus actual Magellas get bad in 08th MS team especially. Where the Magellas are consistently sized but small and the cannons are huge when held by a Zaku.
Scale is a bitch, although I think the Magella tank actually was intended to be that large. The Zaku Tank is supposed to be a Zaku's upper body on the lower hull of a Magella tank of course, and then there is the gun size comparison.
