Why didn't Quattro ever have the Hyaku Shiki repainted red like his Rick Dias?
Didn't he feel like a tremendous tool flirting about in a shiny golden robot?
And it's not like the situation with the Zeong where he just didn't have time to have it painted red. He flew in it all the way until Haman drops some debris on him.

I expect most of the new animation (whether that results in new scenes or just extending the existing scenes) to be towards the middle of the show.
The first two OVAs are reasonably well packaged and should be easily edited into a conventional format.
