What's the point of "armored" pilot uniforms?
Isn't the whole point of placing a pilot within the mech is so that he or she isn't exposed to enemy fire?

The same reason tankers wear the same body armor as the infantry. Sometimes you gotta get outside the armor box when the enemy is still shooting.

I always had the idea of Element Sentai, no other themes just elements
Red - Fire
Blue (female) - Water/Ice
Yellow - Lightening
Green - Earth/Leaf
White - Wind
6th Black - Space
The gimmick would be they can mix and match their elemental attacks like Green and Red mix to do a lava attack.

What for? We all know he ends alone, miserable and failed at everything; killed by his own son.
Han Solo is barely a distinct character; he's Harrison Ford in space. That's the appeal. I don't want to see someone do a Ford impression in a cutesy story where you see how he met Chewbacca, how he got the Falcon, and how he found a set of clothes in Lando's old closet that just happen to be his iconic outfit.

I think that's the best and most interesting and fitting story for the character. I could never see him having a truly happy ending, being some well respected general or politician.

Everyone and their dog has an issue with ZZ, but what I wanna know is why is the eponymous mobile suit so god damn ugly? How did they go fromas magnificent as the Zeta to a fucking brick that transforms into another brick?

That's all for right now since the other few aren't so finished yet. But the ZZ can look really good, so it isn't really the design. It just needs some work.

ITT: Your favorite "bad" /m/-related thing.
That show/game/whatever that you acknowledge has more flaws than strengths, but you still love anyways.
I'll start with my favorite worst-mecha-game, Front Mission Evolve. Yeah, yeah, I know it's a rushed, poorly produced, mediocre shooter that brings shame onto the Front Mission name. But I still find myself replaying it once a year, partially because of the nostalgia glasses I wear and partially because I think the game is genuinely good at making you feel like you're getting stronger as the game goes on. Comparing to what you're doing in the first level, you can get into some crazy shit by the end.
FLAG is a terrible anime.
But I think it's pointing in the right direction for where I hope mecha will go: A large emphasis on world building, an acknowledgement that mechs aren't god-machines, and a main character who isn't a mech driver
Robotech: Invasion because it's the closest I'll ever get to a Mospeada game.

Hard to say. Vajra armor has been shown to be ridiculously tough depending on the episode.

Would a Newtype even work against a Vajra? They don't really have emotions or thoughts so how would they react to their attacks?
Why was Showa Godzilla so bad after the original? Is it just the general rule of Showa toku being bad in general or did they just try to squeeze as much money out of the character as they could?
Pretty sure this is still considered good.

Me personally, I liked how one of the series' signature designs is a freaking tripod. You don't see a lot of those outside War of the Worlds.
I still haven't watched it yet because I'm waiting for the BDs. They're not just lifting the Shin Getter subs for those, are they? After watching their subs for L-Gaim and seeing how incomprehensible it was in places, I'm considering them only a small step above crabsticks
