It's like...PLOT is a natural and common occurrence in the Kimura-verse. No characters ever point out the abundance of overflowing PLOT, they are just-there.

This actually happens a lot in other star systems.
Lots of the exoplanets we're picking up these days are easy to detect because they are 'Hot Jupiters', basically, a jupiter size planet or larger, but orbiting in a mercury-type orbit.
The reason this is commonly thought to happen, is if there is too much gas, dust and icy material in a system's planetary nebula as it forms, then there's enough material to create a whole bunch of very large gas giants.
But so many super big planets in one system don't play nice, their gravity interacts and usually theres one that will be slightly bigger, that flings the other planets out of the system to become rogue planets, however, that large gas giant also loses a lot of it's orbital momentum from ejecting the other giants, and as a result falls down into a closer orbit to it's star.
A hot Jupiter is usually the sole remaining victor in a game of gravitational bumper cars, worn out and nearly defeated, spiralling into it's star.
