For those new to gunpla/plamo or even just new to this thread; please read the guide. Please read it before asking questions as there is a chance it has already been answered there.
For those unfamiliar, "plamo" is a shortened form of "plastic model". If it's made of plastic, someone can probably help you here.
If you're new, you're gonna fuck up. Don't worry! If you're expereinced, don't make the new people worry!

Try being specific, especially about your materials and process. Post pictures whenever possible; even if the kit/part looks bad, you are more likely to get help posting pictures.

Are you kidding me? In the last few episodes of the OVA he commands the remaining Iserlohn forces against all odds, rams Reinhard's imperial flagship, boards it and fights all the way into Reinhard's room just to have a chat with him.
And he does all of this without being a little bitch about it.

Is this actually the most efficient place to carry it? The back placement on most Gundams has always seemed kind of awkward.
Most efficient are the RX-0 beam sabres mounted on the forearms like a "beam tonfa", or the integrated beam sabres on the Aegis. Doesn't require hands and can activate at a moment's notice with no chance of slipping away. The Unicorn's forearm beam sabres are more flexible when it comes to usage as they can swivel on their mount to simulate swinging without needing to move the entire forearm, while the Aegis has fixed beam sabres that simply point outward from the limb.
Back placement stems from the RX-78's backpack mounting which was supposed to be vaguely based on samurai or ninja, but I don't think drawing a sword from the back would have been easy in real life unless it was fairly short.

What was the general response to this when it first aired? I know that The Day the Earth Stood Still is regarded as something of a masterpiece and any other Giant Robo adaptation is inevitably going to be compared to it, but how does GR fare on its own?

After seeing both of these godawful Attack on Titan live action movies, I have absolutely no hope for Anno's upcoming Godzilla with Higuchi (who directed this).
