What's /m/'s opinion on the boxguard droids from Deus Ex: Human Revolution?
They were a pretty cool idea. Drop things that look like giant crates on the battlefield then it transforms into a hulking 4-legged robot that starts murdering infantry with its guns and tanks with its missiles. Felt like the bigger, deadlier brothers of the murder drones from 00.
Though I doubt a single RTG could power them which was said to be the power source for these things according to the wiki.

They were okay, but they suffered from being the game's primary security bot. They should have been the light version fielded in urban areas as extra fire support for security forces, with heavy ED-209-style robots guarding the interiors of installations.
Also you could kill Boxguards with about two mags from your pistol.
That one area in the FEMA installation where it's just racks and racks of them and you keep hearing noises...
So I'm guessing from all the grousing in prior threads is that Schwarzeneggars is shaping up to be an average, to even alright anime, but a terrible adaptation.ML thread

From a story-telling perspective, I think that was supposed to be the intent. Whether it succeeded or not...that's another story altogether.
So these days there are lots of world travel/reincarnation series.
Are there any series about a mecha pilot in a fantasy setting?
Closest I've seen is Gargantia.
I'd like to see a giant robo crushign demons and the like.
Dunbine, Ryu Knight, Rayearth, Maze, to name a few.

MEANWHILE IN AUSTRALIA Max "Mad" Rockanatsky was driving to the ruins of sydney opera house to buy a new steering wheel. he got a call from furiosa on his messenger pidgeon that said "rofl ook at this shit" and it was a drawing and mad max wrote back "lol" while drtiving. "Oh shit" said mad max because post-apocalypse cop saw that he was speeding and was chasing him down. Mad max pull over to the side of the desert and said "What is the problem offider" and the [post-apocalypse cop said "It is of no worry, I am yhour police singing telegram, and the message is vengeance" and the cop took out gun but mad max ran him over. "I knew that my enemuies would one day be catch up with where I am... clearly I must evacuate!" say mad max so mad max fake own death by bail out of car and it hit a rock. MAX got out his CARRIER PIDGEON and he wrote "dear trowa: get me out of australia" and he sent the carrier pidgeon away. "The only rotation more necessary that gatling is wheels, and I still have a need for speed!" so he looked for a car.

The whole series he's pegged as this normal guy who's just really good at killing people - he makes mistakes throughout. I thought he was going to prove that even ordinary men could defeat Perfect Soldiers.
Then in the last 10 episodes it's likeNOPE LOL YOU WERE PREDESTINED TO BE GREAT, but I consider that to be non-canon, so let's pretend Chirico is normal.
