/m/ you told me this was good, but you didn't tell me it'd be this fucking good. Holy shit it was incredible, like a mix of Top Gun, Ghost in the Shell, and Hatsune Miku with a touch of the first Die Hard thrown in at the end.
On top of all of that the OVA animation was incredible and the story/characters were new and refreshing.
After finishing Plus i'm not quite half way through the Macross franchise but I would be very very (pleasantly) surprised if it didn't just reach its high water mark.
It was just one of the best /m/ things I have ever seen period I think.
Fuck, the music was incredible too. I'm just going to have to watch anything that Yoko Kanno was involved in at this point.
It's probably the best battles I've ever seen but I didn't care much for the rest of it. I can rewatch those battles any time though

Does he have any redeming qualities and why is his pacifism so fucking annoying? How would you rank him compared to other Gundam protagonists?

He's in the category of Gundam leads I don't really care about. Which includes most of them I guess, Kira and Kio included. I don't hate them, I just nothing them. Amuro. Uso, Domon, Loran and Setsuna are probably the only ones I like for a variety of reasons now that I think of it.

So why not start with something simpler realties such as power armor - heavily armored and equipped with powerful armament of soldiers, perhaps more promising than a walking tank...

Mk.II is alright but I think 0080 & 0083 kinda ruined it a little. The Alex and GPs were pretty rad and going from them to Mk.II is a little rough.
What ever happened to the other Mk.II's though? I assume one was used for spare parts, but where'd the other go? They used two of them early on in Z then the one just poofs out of existence.

Made by Masayuki Yamamoto, the same composer responsible for the music of the J9 series (minus Sasuraiger, which was mainly Joe Hisaishi). Ripped from NicoNico.
The Srungle OST was re-released on CD a long time ago (which was the version that was uploaded onto NicoNico), but unfortunately Victor Music Industries thought it would be a great idea to not include the show's unreleased BGM tracks on the 2nd CD, but instead the Srungle Drama LP OST that includes copy & pasted snippets of various episodes from the show. The only redeeming factor of that is that it also includes the full version of the 2nd OP/ED (which I've included with the original OST), but it's still a shame that the other tracks couldn't have been included.
The quality isn't too bad, but sadly some of the tracks might have audible distortion. I plan to fix this once I buy an LP copy of the album in the future.
