It's actually kind of cool as an alternate UC timeline. It's been retconned out of existence, but MSG and Zeta are canon to it.

Yes I'm talking that series Getter Robo. It fucking sucks. Now it's pretty popular among the anime circles, and yet this poor excuse for an animated feature is the worst thing ever produced by a human being if you except Plan 9 from Outer Space, and I'm being generous.
First you gotta admit you hated the first chapter. It made no sense, sucked as shit, wasn't funny, edgy or new. Or original. Art sucked dead Zeek' balls. Characters sucked dead Zeek's balls. Voice actiong sucked dead Kees' balls. But you managed to make it through the whole pile of steaming poo just to see chapter 7 of Go. BEcause that's what this manga is about. It's about the the ending. Those 1 minute and a half. There's nothing else to it. You went like "OMG ART LIEK" you freaking retards and now everyone likes it. Yet it's shit. It's complete shit with no redeeming qualities. There's fucking nothing to it. Just the EoE bullshit at the end. It's a 2deep4u manga. A fucking retarded sdeep4u manga with no story and nothing and no characters it sucks. You shouldn't like it you morons seriously. Just download the theme songs from the shitty OVAs and loop them on your WMP you cockass faggot asses. I get the advantage of the core fighter system and part interchangeability of the Victory.But the amount of parts (especially the fucking legs) that get blown up so easily just makes the Victory itself seem more like a cheap average joe mobile suit.

Anyways, you'll know the real meaning of "grunt Gundam" when you start to see the Victory Gundam HEXA types.
almost everything had weak armor in that era, it was a consequence of beam weapons being standard everywhere so they decided to make everything lightly armored and smaller profile so it'd be harder to hit
besides, beam shields made it so they could keep up a certain level of durability and endurance even if they all have paper thin armor
the victory is pretty much an average suit, it's better than zanscare's early MP models but not quite as good as some of zanscare's late MP models. it's balanced and as middle of the road as it gets.
