How are patlabor master grades?
I've been thinking of getting a MG griffon since that's my favorite labor from the show
They are Bandai's first venture into ABS frames in the early 2000s. Back then they relied on metal screws needed in the frame for a proper fit. Overall those frames are still great and sturdy (the G Gundam MGs use the same tech and are glorious).
The only real issue is the soft vinyl rubber covers for the joints. It's kinda restrictive and over time if left under stress will tear. Blame the mecha designers for putting fabric over joints, Bandai had to gimmick out a solution for that.
Whatever you do don't buy at scalper prices. These kits are plentiful and regularly come back into production.

Is there a larger version of that image? I kind of like it when artists put an anime scene into old art style.
Instead of thinking it in terms of super and real, it's easier to think of them like this:
Tetsujin 28th, Giant Robo = hero bots
Mazinger Z, Getter Robo = superhero bots
Gundam RX 78-2, Scopedog = military bots
And then, you can have superhero and hero bots for the military, like Getter Robo Go and Evangelion.
To clear things out, stuff like hot blooded characters, shouting attacks, autistic pilots, apocalypse setting have zero relation to these terms. Super and real have only ever applied to the robots themselves. Oh and most important of all, realism too has nothing to do with them, at all. Nips equated military with real because military organisations exist, not because the robots were more realistic.
Seriously, it's not that hard to figure out, yet we still have dumfucks on /m/ trying to add additional meanings or change the original meanings of these terms.

Field Repair
Basically what this means is that rather than the mobile suit being fresh out of a factory, it's quite the opposite. Whether it's trudging through dense jungles or dodging debris in asteroid belts, your mobile suit has seen some better days.
You've been out in the field for quite a long time now, nearly half a year of active duty in the front lines and your personal mobile suit's pretty banged up. What's worse is the fact that there isn't a maintenance bay within several thousand kilometers of your local area that's capable of making any major repairs. Your unit's engineering crew has resorted to patch work and jury-rigging to keep your machine operational. Stray fire might have crippled its legs and arms or otherwise dealt considerable damage to a mobile suit's systems meanwhile some units have simply lost bits of armor and panels to the elements and have been forced to patch weld metal sheets over the exposed inner workings.
In any case it's beaten to hell but somehow you and your team have somehow kept it chugging along and now command's ordered all units operating in your theatre to fall back to form a defensive line against the enemy offensive.

They actually profit just fine off of P-Bandai, typically more so than regular releases in short term profits. As they are selling it directly themselves, they are taking 100% of the profit without having to go through a distributor who buys them at a greatly reduced price from the MSRP. And because of preorders, they have a much better idea of how many to produce and don't end up wasting resources on a ton of kits that are going to shelfwarm. It's only in long term that they are overtaken by regular releases.

I was extremely skeptical on watching this show after the shitfest that was IS2. I'm glad to say that this show is at least more tolerable for me than IS but I think that's just because I don't really watch haremshit in general. I can see how the premise can quickly get old. At least the cg is better than stuff like argevollen.

It was already better done by both the 70s anime and the manga. Granted, the last 5 minutes are great but it lost focus with the Tsubasa bullshit, like usual.

It was the pacing and Tsubasa, especially Tsubasa. If it followed the manga and added some stuff from Z Mazinger, Shin Mazinger would be a lot more popular. It alienated the nostalgiafag and the curious newfags at the same time

If you hand draw and animate a mecha show, doesn't that technically mean that the show is now real? Because ink on paper is definitely real. I've seen it myself.
