He's a cyborg. All four of his limbs have been replaced. He lost his right hand above the wrist, his left arm at the elbow, and both legs above the knees.
He also has to breathe through an iron lung, and his voice is entirely digitally produced (not just modulated) which is how he can talk and breathe at the same time.
Also there was a really cool scene in Shadows Of The Empire where he tries to use his dark side force powers to heal his lungs, but as soon as it starts to work and he is able to take a breath he feels joy and relief, and the dark side works off of anger and fear so the experience of being able to breathe makes him unable to maintain concentration on his dark side powers. He'd have to figure out how to be angry at the fact that his lungs are healing in order to heal himself with the force.

So I found a Zeta Gundam model kit I bought several years ago. Been having a great time putting it together. Then I remembered that stupid-ass younger version of myself threw away the runway and stand piece like an idiot.

Cont...OR you could buy the MG Mk 2 2.0. It comes with a stand like the Zeta 2.0 and I'm pretty sure it's compatible, you should probably check dalong on that one first though. Anyway, get the Mk 2, put it in a ground pose, then use it's stand for the Zeta. Unlike the Zeta, the Mk 2 doesn't need a stand to look good.

You're allowed to decide for yourself. I personally think he was mentally unbalanced and his philosophy reflects that. I'd even go so far as to say his fetishizing of Newtypes is directly responsible for their extermination by ensuring they would too often be used as tools of war, causing them to die young and childless. Newtypes would have become much more commonplace if not for Zeon's assumption that they were inevitable.
