Always wanted to get a taste of Armored Core but never got a good oportunity to do so, but there's a guy around my place selling a japanese copy of Armored Core For Answer and copies of the games of these series are hard as fuck to find around here at a good price (he's selling the game for what would be around 15 dollars), so I come to ask you guys:
-Is For Answer a good game to start getting into the series? I've heard it's a sequel of AC4, but the game is very similar. Do I lose something if I just jump into this one before trying to get a copy of AC4?
-Anyone here knows how hard the japanese vocabulary of this game can be? I've have pretty basic notions of Japanese and can read pretty well (I only suck with Kanji) and understand some things. Is it a bad Idea to try playing this game in Japanese even with me not being so good at it?
Also, feel free to say your thoughts on other games of the series that if I actually buy this For Answer copy and enjoy it I might be checking the rest of the series if I can find them at a good price around here.
It's ok, but it and AC4 are kinda radical departures from what was the series norm at the time. AC4 loses a mechanic or two and has a shop interface that is more new user intuitive but rather alienating to longstanding fans, to the point where 4Answer reverts the menu change.
While I'm on the subject of changes and stuff, 5 and Verdict Day are equally radical departures from 4 and 4Answer as well.

Oh, I heard that as well when I was trying to get some information about it and I'll be aware of it when I play. About the menu change in 4A, is this menu change bad?
Why not get an english version of For Answer?

Why is the robot that started the mecha boom the one that gets shat the most at the same time? I mean I get that Kouji is a dick in Toeizinger but seeing shit like this just makes my dick shrink. It seems he's just there to get his shit fucked up and have someone else take over, he's like the sayaka to his superiors in a way.
The only instances I can think of that aren't this way is the original manga ans Shin Mazinger.
