Hello gentle/m/en, just wanted to know if GaoGaiGar is worth a watch.
Starts off slow and formulaic, but by the end it's probably my favorite super robot story.
Final is ridiculous good, too.

Like every Yuusha show, the first half of each episode is mostly kiddy stuff and very fast-forwardable. Then, the second half of each show is FUCKING AWESOME!

I mean, why is G-Reco praised for all of its flaws yet any other show that fucks up in the same sense gets shat on for it?
If I took a shit in a museum, does it make it art? No, it's a shit and should be removed from the scenes. But if Tomino took a shit, like he did with Reconguista, apparently it's some magnum opus and only a simpleton would see the rancid fecal turd for what it is.

The antagonists of the final arc, the Earth Cult, is pretty much religious extremism personified. I consulted /m/ on this before and apparently Hitomi is supposed to be the plain bitch for the shoujo audience to self-insert.
I was also very confused by how they are supposed to kiss without poking out each other's eyes with their pointy, pointy noses. /m/ explained that their noses are slightly flexible and will bend to the side when kissing.
Generally, the shoujo genre will be very weird and strange for first time viewers.
So after all, VOTOM's should be classified as mecha or exo-suit?
Mecha, obviously. The cockpit doesn't have to be in the torso for it to be a giant robot.
