So I was at licensing expo earlier today and I saw a Robotech booth.
I was surprised Robotech wasn't dead and buried but they were advertising a new tabletop game, reminded me of the X-Wing tabletop. And a new artbook too, looked like all original drawings not copying over Macross stuff.
But they also had fliers for a new series.
And guess whose fucking face was on it?
I'll snag one tomorrow and take pics.

Any new series they try to make will tank, just like every other sequel series they've tried to make in the last 30 or so years. A year or two back they couldn't even get enough money through Kickstarter to fund a pilot for a new series they hoped to use interest in the pilot to get funds for. If they have to beg the public for money just to make a pilot and can't even do that, then they're certainly not going to get money to help convince Satelight to let license another Macross show and Satelight have no reason to do so anyways after 30 years of abuse and drama. They can put his face on a flier all they want, but they can't make anything from Frontier because they'd be sued in to a black hole if they tried.

During the OYW did the Federation have any sort of helicopter like aircraft besides this fucking thing? I know the original Gundam had 70s as fuck retro-futuristic mechanical design that didn't really take into account actual future technologies, but there has to be more than this because I always though helicopters would be great forward recon units for mobile suit teams on Earth.
