I love UC Gundam. It's what I grew up with liking the most. I watched G and bits of Wing, but there is one thing that kills me about the UC timeline. One line. Uttered by this fella. The second "Sieg Zeon!" came out of his mouth I wretched. What ever were the writers thinking? I'd change this first, more than anything...

I'm in the middle of Ultraman Ginga S, and I can't get over how good it is. I've written off the new Ultra shows and movies for years, just about all of them shameless toy commercials and plugs for "newer betterer Ultramen." Hell, Ginga was flat out awful. But somehow S comes along and, despite obviously being used to sell toys, delivers good characters, very impressive effects, good pacing that never leaves you bored, and fantastic fight scenes.
I'm on episode 5, and right now my only real complaints are that I hate that they keep reusing...

Sho isn't so much of a loner, but more like socially naive (especially as he's literally from underground) and naturally pissed off given the history between them and humans..
That said, you should check out Ultraman X. It's available to stream on Crunchyroll, and is also very good (and handles its toy promotions a lot better than expected.) Great music and sound editing, very visually appealing, and has some original monsters too.
Hell yeah. Ginga S is surprisingly amazing. It has a great story, a good villain, awesome fights, and 3 great new kaiju (Shepardon, 5 King, and Vict Lugiel). I'm probably in the minority here, but I preferred it to X.
I didn't give Ginga S a chance because Ginga was such white hot garbage. Is it really that much better? Seems kinda dubious.
ITT: Weapons you wish were used by your favorite mecha
It'd be cool if King Gainer had like a sword/gun/gernade launcher/laser chainsaw thing. And could pull a second one out of its fanny pack.
I just wish there was a mecha anime with some halfway decent fistfighting.
What is your mecha fetish, and no I don't mean secret princesses, angst ridden teen ace pilots, deadbeat scientist dads, or not Chars. Those are plot tropes/cliches
What arms, armor, designs, colors, and lore about mobile suits do it for you?
I'll start us off with piledriver arms. Never really done as well as Big O, but if I ever designed a mecha I promise you it would have this awesome feature.
