Just finished this.
It was a really fun ride, my first Kamen Rider since Masked Rider when I was a child. A to Z was fucking good with a real gap in term of action scenes.
My only problem is the end of the serie, I would have preferred that Philip come back in a movie instead of an episode later. I really liked the idea that Joker was the new Kamen Rider at the end, after Skull and W, it was like a true legacy was on the shoulders of Shotaro.
What was your favorite Gaia memory?
A lot of people complain about the ending. I actually really liked it, showed some development and redemption for Wakana's character since you know, she wasn't truly evil the entire time.
Glad you liked it, it's a great series as a starter. Do you intend to watch OOO next?

I just noticed, Project Supernova is done all wrong. Completely worthless at actually evaluating the VFs stats in any objective way. They could have picked pilots with similar skill sets and flying styles, and who don't have a lasting vendetta against each other. Hell, cloning technology is right there, they could have just cloned Isamu or Guld twice and put each clone on a plane. Then they could have a testing condition with less variables to muddle up the issue of which is the better plane. Not even getting into the whole murderous Vocaloid thing.
Either that or let whichever of the companies is the Macross equivalent of Lockheed lobby their way to victory as usual.
I know it would be boring and there would probably be no story worth telling (as is probably the case for the other VF contract competitions that remain offscreen), but still.
Unless it was intended to demonstrate the most bleeding edge VFs being undermined by their pilots, paving the way for the X-9.

That's an interesting theory but I don't think it pans out. They would have to assume that every single pilot in their forces is a reckless hothead to write off the multi-million (billion?) dollar projects entirely. I don't think they'd be so quick to do that.

There is some redrawn footage in Re:0096 for transitions, but the flow--which was already kinda weird--is completely fucked. Nothing "new" in the sense you probably mean. At least not yet, and it's not likely that there will be.

Space battles in sci-fi make no sense. Ships fly as if there's still atmosphere. How exactly are these ships changing directions? They have aero-deynamic shapes.
I'm not sure what real battles would look like. But it wouldn't be this. Not a single thing as done it right.
