Thinking back on it, the grappler arms from Outlaw Star were a pretty unique concept with an actually pretty solid basis in reality. It's not uncommon for space shuttles and whatnot to have mechanical arms on them. It kind of makes me wonder why no other mecha show has ever incorporated something like this since. Perhaps it just seems like you could say, why have robot arms when you could just have a whole robot? But still, they pulled it off so well in Outlaw Star, you'd think someone else would have tried the idea.
Also, Outlaw Star thread why not.
Anyone see doujinshi or rule 34 of her with that proto-Pepe ayy lmao?
>>13803720
I just recognized her as Rogue from the 90s X-Men cartoon.
>>13803750
I only learned that about last week.
How do you like your gundam mouthpiece, vents or no vents?
>>13816374
Vents. It's more iconic.
Vents for sure.
>>13816374
No vents.
>tfw we'll never get another late UC show.

the designs look so cool

The F90 Gundams aren't named because of the year they were built.
How many normal Scopedogs would it take to beat a normal Zaku?
>>13802502
Just one.
Piloted by Amuro.
>Scopedog vs Zaku
This is almost Gundam vs Valkyrie tier in terms of lopsided matchups.
Depends mainly on the Scopedogs layout and who is piloting. If by normal you mean bare bones and armed with a GAT-22, I would say you'd at least need two. While the Zaku 2 does have the advantage in weaponry, at 18 meters tall it is a very hard target to miss. At 3 meters a Scopedog has a significant advantage at being able to hide, especially in an urban setting. In fact, you might be able to pull off a one on one in such terrain.

And? Its a love it or hate it design to most and it tends to grow on people, i know it did on me especially while watching turn a. Personally part of the love for me comes from its motion and how fluid it seems to move.
>>13822295
The Turn A itself is a terrible design, but the Turn X and SUMO are GOAT.
>>13822339
I had the opposite problem. Watching the show only made me hate it more.
How do you even find such obscure groups to whine about, OP? Let alone amongst the porn that flooded it for the past 10 years.
GODDAMN
33 episodes in, and I can't pin down if this guy wants to rule, wants to be a dick, wants to help people, or wants to crush the "weak".
Jesus, he's all over the fucking place. I can't connect his actions to a clear motivation and it's driving meBANANAS.
You ever played Shin Megami Tensei IV?
He's basically Walter.
>>13822214
>wants to rule, wants to be a dick, wants to help people, or wants to crush the "weak"
All of it.
>>13822218
I have not.
I will now.
Anyone else they throw a curveball and not have Freya sing this?
Like have one of the others (like, oh let's say, Mikumo) do it as an example or something?Mylene's version is a best! A BEST!
>>13818974
They probably will. Apparently for he audition she sang Do You Remember Love? and you could hear a sample of that recording during the initial Delta reveal. She's a pretty good singer for an amateur.
>>13818974
>Anyone who sings that song loses the Macrossbowl
>>13819112
But Mylene won.
So wait, did I miss something along the line, or does this really just end with"yeah they lose by the way"?Maybe I'm blind/dumb, but I looked around and saw nothing regarding a continuation, save for maybe the manga. I get that Ep2 shows a bit of the battle, but hot damn am I feeling blue-balled right about now.
>>13818370
Basically Koji refuses to change and everything goes back into a cycle, rewatch episode 1 then episode 2 again, it'll make more sense
>>13818370
Mazinger Z always loses against the Mycenae Empire. It what starts up Great, which was hinted at in the first episode where they lose.
Unfortunately, we never got Great-hen.
>>13818376
That helped yeah, especially since they actually spell it out a bit with the narration. Sort of forgot all about those bits since I assumed they were just previews and they'd go back to them by the end of the show.
>>13818388
>Mazinger Z always loses against the Mycenae Empire.
>Unfortunately, we never got Great-hen.
That's a bit depressing, though it was a fun ride while it lasted.
Wrecking ball mecha and spider mecha are honestly the only not completely retarded kinds of mecha.
They should make more shows about them instead of stupid humanoid mecha.
>Space opera series
>Could have cool space fighters
>Nah just make a Gundam ripoff
Wrecking ball mecha and spider mecha are honestly the worst most retarded kinds of mecha.
They should make more shows about humanoid mecha instead of stupid ugly mecha.
>>13817081
You love all those 2k sales mecha shows don't you?
Hey /m/, I just finished Zeta for the first time
It was pretty masterfully done, but no matter how many times I rewatched this scene, I still cannot follow the meaning or the facial expressions
Kamille rides a bike into space to rescue Fa from the Titans
Zeta is awesome, it's a shame that this thread is bound to get shitposted on, because saying you like Zeta makes you a target for Neo/m/s.
>>13816829
Damn, we need more bike riding in Gundam. Char on the red Suzuki Katana against Amuro's white Honda or something like that.
>mfw people legitimately have the gall to like tripe like Muv-Luv and Godannar
What happened to the /m/ that used to be good and not have people with abysmal tastes? Why has it been replaced by people who happily consume garbage and are even willing to call it good?
>thinking godannar is bad
I'm sorry you're incapable of love anon
Pic is best girl
>Hating on Godannar
Wow you're like way too late to be complaining about that one kid. I wouldn't have even heard of this if /m/ hadn't recommended it to me like 7 years ago or something.
Well, OP, please do grace us with your .txt of gentlemanly animu and manga of glorious eras past that you keep to refer to, so that we may learn from our most shameful, plebian transgressions, and never again so deeply offend you and your elegant, royal sensibilities. /m/ecca.
Comfy discussion of the game and it's Awesome Mechas.

To start, what's the most memorable side missions for you guys?
Guess this is a slow hour to post stuff.
>>13730895
All the definian ones leading up to Mia, mostly because how much of a pain they all were.
You know, it's amazing how great Imagawa is as a director and writer. Giant Robo is amazing and almost inarguably one of the best /m/ OVAs of all time, potentially one of the best OVAs period. G Gundam is mediocre overall, but not too bad. He even managed to make Mazinger and Getter something actually kind of good, which is a great example of just how fantastic he is. What's your opinion on him, /m/?
>>13821943
>G Gundam was good overall
> He even managed to make Mazinger and Getter even better
There I fixed it for you.
>2016
>G Gundam is 22 years old
>Still no BDs
>still no sequel
>Imagawa approaching the ripe young age of when pancreatic cancer kills the japanese
Man I thought G Gundam was fine, not mediocre at all
