Anyone else think the New Macross-class looks kinda dull in carrier mode compared to the SDF-1?
Also, having to drag around a space colony at all times seems like a poor design decision. The rest of the fleet is self-propelled, why not give the island engines too?

I thought the islands could into self propelled? In Macross 7 the island ends up seperated from the carrier and they seem to get around just fine without it.
