For those new to gunpla/plamo or even just new to this thread; please read the guide. Please read it before asking questions as there is a chance it has already been answered there.
For those unfamiliar, "plamo" is a shortened form of "plastic model". If it's made of plastic, someone can probably help you here.
If you're new, you're gonna fuck up. Don't worry! If you're expereinced, don't make the new people worry!

How do you guys cut parts on a model for customization? What tool do you use? I'm starting a Gallus customization and need to cut away some of the ankle. I'd like to order a tool today.

Evidently not. I do two coats of Flat Cleat Acryl because any more starts to look fuzzy or dusty. Most of the scrapes I produce are from the model's parts contacting each other. No reason not to use different coloured primers. The whole shebang doesn't have to be uniform. You can white primer the white parts and black primer the dark parts and grey primer the light coloured parts.

The only gunpla groups I've ever really seen are team carbon and thosegundamguys.
Team Carbon seems to take themselves way too seriously, and thosegundamguys are notorious dicks. They run a competition that they judge and themselves compete in, shit talk people, also take themselves too seriously.
Really can't imagine being in one of those.
I'm pretty sure the guy who runs a local model shop is part of a build group that hangs out in the back of his store. They seem like what an ideal group would be like. They keep to themselves and just enjoy shit. They make some pretty great stuff that gets put on display in the shop.

I mostly just snapbuild > panel line > topcoat so I'm not really part of any community per se. I use this hobby to relax and see cool robot designs. Most days I lurk on /m/ and /toy/'s Gunpla thread.
Then again, I'm a bit wary of entering communities centered around anime and related properties. Some people are just too obsessed about things in ways that makes you uncomfortable.
