I think it's kinda bullshit how many organizations create this artificial scarcity of blackbelts by basing it on how much time you spend practicing. If I can take one class a week and catch on I shouldn't have to log hours upon hours for the sake of getting a new belt
I think it's pretty mcdojo to force people to have a certain amount of time, its just price gouging
I think it's a good idea not to base skill on time spent on the mat.
Some people progress faster than others.
Some teachers are better than others.
