Since public libraries in Rio are bad and far, I use my uni's, which is also public and neat.

You are given 1 billion dollars to start a pro wrestling promotion with the intent of becoming the #1 wrestling promotion on earth.
How would you dethrone WWE?
79 posts and 7 images submitted.
>>
You couldn't. Most of the worlds best wrestlers are under contract with them. They have the TV slot. If ratings aren't your measure of success, then other companies already are bigger.

The easiest way would be to buy as many WWE shares as possible, then hire a hitman to kill VKM, Steph and Rippleaitch. Give the book to Heyman. Job done.

What is your most honest opinion on Mike Tyson?

One of the greatest Heavyweights or just another over rated can crusher?

How fucking lucky is this guy for meeting the devil twice? once with Robin Givens and second with Don King?

Is Prime Tyson (with Cus) as strong as Batman?

Even though he was pretty good, he falls more to the can crusher side for me, but he did have the fastest hands of any heavyweight that I've seen

Don't they know it's fake?
>>

a movie isn't the same thing as a sport m8
if it was the case that wrestling fans enjoyed it because of the acting, why would they call it a sport
it doesn't require any sort of real skill to wrestle other than learning certain moves and being fit enough to execute them
>>
I'll be that faggot who say's it
> It's not fake, it's scripted
It's storytelling that involves people (mostly) actually beating each other up. It's essetially a mix of stunts and dance and I think it has a little more purpose than sports like football and baseball on a professional level. but then again, those just aren't my thing, and wrestling just isn't some other people's thing. It isn't "Real" but you're supposed to watch as if it is for the best experience.
give it a shot like that if you like. And if you still don't like it, oh well.
Here's one quick match I think anyone can get into
>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=epyYeN_cdG0

I'm 285 and want to get into martial arts namely because of my goals to become a Police Officer in my near future. I do not want to automatically resort to a gun, it's kind of sad to do that when you're supposed to protect.

Anyway what would be a good start for me? I used to do a lot of cardio and a little bit of strength training, but fell out of it due to school. I believe that right now I am at 20% bodyfat? (I do really want slim down, starting my diet tomorrow.)

I was thinking starting off with grapple and weight based martial arts like wrestling and judo then moving onto striking martial arts like boxing, tae kwon do, and mauy thai.

TL:DR where can a 285 pound person start in the martial arts world? I ain't looking for easy

Fairly solid plan. Go ahead.

Also, how tall are you?
>>
>>875840
>at 20% bodyfat
so you would have a lean mass of over 100kg without lifting weights at all?

Three possibilities:
1) you are VERY tall
2)you have some very rare gene "defect" that makes you build muscle from absolutely nothing (unlikely)
3)you sleepwalk and your sleepwalking self has a gym membership and trains very hard (probably on a light dose of roids)

If none of those apply to you, you are not 20% bodyfat.

go to /fit/, read the sticky and start lifting. physical strength is very important in physical confronttions in real life.

boxing/kickboxing training is (at least in the gyms where I trained) more cardio intensive then judo. probably better for a guy who wants to lose weight.

I would start with a striking martial art + lifting and pick up grappling when you are fitter (as you will have less weight that you can use to "cheat"(be sloppy technique wise) or that will be to your disadvantage.

good luck

Fuck cops.
Train Aikido.

Any tips you could give to a total out of shape beginner who just had his first week of MMA training over?

Jiu Jitsu is hard as fuck, I can't seem to coordinate my moves. I do great at striking tho since I trained muay thai for a couple years when I was younger.

I'm would also like to ask about pre workout supplements or shakes or whatever that could enhance my endurance.

stick with it, thats the best thing you can do
>>
>>875372
You don't really need pre workout plus that shit isn't good for your heart if you are doing cardio heavy stuff like running or muy thai. The best thing you can do is movement drills around your house it when your watching tv, find a movement your body finds awkward and practice doing it right slowly and with good form. Don't worry about speed, speed will come with time and repetition

blue belt bjj here

Keep at it. I'm a 1 stripe blue belt, and it doesn't really get any easier for me. But the only reason I'm still a blue is because of work, it's hard to make training all the time. I want to train as much as I can but obviously I can't due to work. I am pretty much at the bottom of the food chain of the blue belts, they always thrash me. But I can destroy most of the white belts. Some of those motherfuckers are getting good. The white belt level today is a lot better than the white belt level 7 years ago, I tell you that much.

Supplements and pre workout shit, forget about all that. The only supplement you should need is standard whey protein shakes, if anything. Just stick to a proper diet of fruit, vege, meat, water etc, and try to avoid Coca Cola and other junk food like Mcdonalds etc.

Having a proper diet is the key to improving your jiu jitsu. Proper diet and obviously attending class, of course.

Good luck, bro.

I'm not sure whether is is more suited to /asp/ or /an/, but is anyone here into falconry?

Definitely a sport. About as far from mainstream as possible, so sure, its alternative.

Your post probably belongs here.

And no, I'm not a falconer. That's a fine looking bird though.
>>
I would love to get into falconry, but there isn't anything about it in my state (Delaware). I read people usually train with someone to learn, but how difficult would it be to learn by myself?

Not a falconer myself, but I've banded/ringed hawks. Depending on where you live the laws might require you to get a permit in order to own a raptor. Generally when you apply for the permit they'll set you up with a mentor. At least that's how it works in Canada.

I would not advise learning by yourself. Talons will fuck you up. Expect stiches.

I don't know much about what goes into training and conditioning. If you do get into it, it's a rewarding hobby. From the few falconers I've talked to, those guys can fill a freezer full of rabbits in a season.
