I'm 99% sure Vince only did that so WWE doesn't get more "bad publicity".
Only reason. I'm also sure Vince often uses the word himself, he even used it in a backstage segment with Cena telling him "keep it up my nigga" though nigga=/=nigger
It was necessary to avoid the bad publicity, but now the work to gradually phase Hulk back into WWE has begun. They've even stopped turning away people with Hulk signs anymore.
There are tons of threads trashing the guy and I can understand why. I'm not a fan of this mega push at all. It's been handled in a fucking awful way and it grinds peoples gears to see someone who hasn't really "paid their dues" rise to the top so quickly but how much of the hatred is reasonable and how much is becoming full blown meme territory?
Is Reigns shit in the ring? -- It's safe to say that he's not a technical marvel but he's really not as terrible as people are making out. The main event was pretty crap at WM but I don't think that is really Reigns fault. He was perfectly serviceable in that match. It just wasn't very interesting.
I rewatched it and Reigns has some good momentum and his impact moves looks pretty decent. He could definitely do with adding more to his repertoire but there is no reason he can't.
He's had good matches with others as well. Before you bite my head off I'm not saying he's been in 5 star classics I'm just saying that he is far from a total write off as an in ring competitor. He's not Bret Hart but he's not bad. This is something that is blown out of proportion.

His mic skills.... This is harder to defend. He's pretty bad in this regard but I think a LOT of this is him being underserved by creative (Vince) by trying to make him something he is not.
He's the Rock's cousin. That does not mean that he can cut sarcastic, funny and charisma filled witty promos like The Rock. We're talking about one of the top 5 talkers EVER in the business so that's not much of a shock.
That doesn't mean Reigns can't get over and do good mic work with something closer to himself. When he's not trying to remember a bunch of suffering succotash (not his fault) he comes across much better. He's definitely more comfortable as a tweener as shown on Raw. As soon as he stopped being a try hard he looked good.

Fuck the promo shit. Cut him loose for a couple of them, dont give him more than a general direction and what the future is supposed to be.
See if he can cut a decent promo on his own. The shit he's being forcefed to say on the mic is god awful and doesn't suit the way he moves or anything.
Let him be more batista-like, more of a animal who is fighting for the top dog position, that's what made him likable in shield.

His expressions at Jeribro, AJ, Owens and Zayn going at it as he stood in the ring was much better stuff and his dismissive smile at the chorus of boos was good as well. He handled a hostile crowd better than most would.
Reigns isn't this absolutley dogshit performer he's just saddled with the wrong gimmick.
Do you turn him full heel or just tweak him into that tweener role? I think they will go with the latter and it could work.
Whatever happens he's not going anywhere so hopefully they fix this absolute clusterfuck...

I've heard people talk about how certain belts need to be made great again, how does this happen? What makes a belt 'great'? I'm just trying to figure it out is all.

The perceived power and skill wrestlers who compete for and hold the belt have. If the wrestlers who have the belt are known to consistently be under-mid carders and not very good, the belt overall isn't considered great because you don't have to be good to hold it.

Its based in karate. Wikipedia says that that his black belt is in kempo karate, but when I try to look up kempo fights they don't seem to be full contact or look like how wonderboy fights. Maybe i"m not looking at the right videos
He maintains his distance with his opponents. He bounces back and forth, stays light on his feet. Hands down when he's not in the pocket. He's known for his high kicks, and almost always throws one in with his combinations.
He's explosive as hell...

I've been completely frustrated with WWE lately. I hate how they manipulate and edit their shows. I fucking detest Roman Reigns. I've annoyed with the booking of Ambro and Bork.
I told myself I was going to cancel my subscription if WM didn't blow me away. Well... WM sucked a dick and the booking afterwards is even worse. Yet I still have my sub and can't bring myself to cancel.
