Why do people say Gurren Lagann is good?
Before you shit your diapers I've got definitive proof that it's shit. It's never explained where Lagann came from in the show.
The entire plot is entirely reliant of Lagann somehow being buried underground for no reason.
You get people who head canon that it was leftovers from Genome defeating all his allies but that's never stated in the show. It's never addressed and is a gaping plot hole that shows the entire show is fundamentally flawed on a conceptual level.

Just like the entirety of Turn A. The only explanation for why all the mobile suits are buried in mountains near the surface and in near mint condiationis a vague brush-off saying "Eh, ancient civilizations" that doesn't mean anything. Mecha is generally incredibly shit and poorly written, don't try and think too much about it. Just enjoy the mecha porn and you'll have a good time.
