I'm going into college next year, and after initial school grants, total cost is ~$40,000. Still waiting for scholarships to come through. Did anyone else go to an expensive ass school? How the fuck you pay for that shit.
>>1172459
Not being a fuckup in high school.
>>1172461
Yeah, I'm not really. I got into JHU and UMBC with paid tuition. Except both of those schools are filled to the brim with whities. My target school is overall kind of shit but it's got a very good department and in Philly. They give their students next to nothing, and don't base much on merit.
>>1172459
That's your fault that your target school dismisses financial aid, so you have no right to complain about it too much. With that being said, unless you're a *kek* liberal arts major, you should be able to pay $40K worth of relatively low-interest loans over around a year or so on a ramen and filtered urine diet. Or, around 2-3 years easily with some frugality and maybe living with your parents to get yourself started.
How do i make enough money to support myself with no college (yet)? I come from a poorfag household and living with my parents isnt an option anymore
Where do you live?
In North America you can easily survive off minimum wage if you get roommates and live frugally. Anything above minimum wage and you're figuratively balling.
>>1172451
south carolina. I have no car and im considering moving to Georgia since i grew up there and know the area and can take the bus around. I dont have any friends that i can stay with
>>1172455
OK do you have any savings or a job?
Find a job and then find roommates on craigslist, check out the place before signing anything, bring up any concerns with the landlord showing you around.(ie common sense of not signing a lease before checking everything out and mentioning any damage so you don't get on the hook for it)
You can do it bro, millions of people your age do it every day.
Just try to start a business or get into college, you don't want to be stuck at one spot on minimum wage forever.

>What did you buy, what did you sell?
>What are you looking to buy and sell in the coming days?
I just bought SFM, looks like solid growth. They are opening a ton of new stores and same store sales are very very healthy.
I am tapped out. I think I am done buying for a while. I am going to sit back and watch these 4 while I slowly fund my account even more per check.

have fun, the SP is overvalued as fuck btw.
I bought galaxy resources, they restarted their lithium mine yesterday, and are now the only producing lithium company next to the big 5 while there is a supply shortage in china, with a share price that is undervalued as fuck. not for long however.
Came across this old note from the atm should I keep? Will it be rare in the future?
>>1172323
Its not that old. Buts its a star note so its significantly rarer then a standard run. Check the collectors value
>>1172323
It will never be worth the value it had in 77
>>1172323
yeah keep it, its very rare, its currently worth, in its condition around $20 but in a few years if its condition is maintained it could could anywhere between $10-$20, good find garry
Does following up on a job application/interview really increase your chances of getting a job, or does it just make you look desperate? I just want to make it less likely that my job application isn't floating in an abyss somewhere.
>>1172275
Its the only way you get a job from my experience. Its the retards who are scared of looking desperate that end up jobless and complaining about not having a job
>>1172275
I used to have a boss who would toss out applications, if somebody called asking about the job that they applied for he would ask them to come in for an interview. Always make that call.
>>1172275
Writing a thank you note for their time after the first interview is the only gesture you need to make. If you don't hear back, you can send a quick "Follow up on status of interview", but don't sound desperate.
"We met a couple of weeks ago, I just wanted to email to follow up on the status of where you're at in selecting a candidate. As you may know, I'm aggressively looking at other companies and currently weighing options at the moment for accepting my next position."

I am currently 30 years old; there are three scenarios for me in the next 10 years:
1) I will be dead
2) I will be in jail
3) I will be a multi-millionaire
That is it.

Any good reads for forex? Everytime I look into it its always just sales pitches for seminars or firms you pay to join.
Should I just watch the news and trade based on that? I cannot figure out how people make strategies for forex, currencies are volatile as hell. How do you learn to read these graphs?

Hi, guys. Anyone use Facebook advertising here?
I usually use AdWords, but decided to create a Facebook advertising account recently and set up a test ad. And I'm getting really bizarre results. I set up a small audience of women 21-34 who like Bloc Party, the band, and are early tech adopters. I set it to page post engagement and just for desktop newsfeed and I get pic related as my suggested bid. That seems crazy high for Facebook. Anyone else get numbers like that if they set up an ad with those options?
So the objective is PPE, demo is females in the United...

I'll just drop a screenshot of my most recent boosted post. I think I ended up paying $.10/engagement, but my targeting was friends of people who already like my page; moreover, the post got, if memory serves, 40-50 shares from page users, so it's probably not an apple to apple comparison.

Remember 2 weeks ago when I said I was going to use DWTI to start a Mercedes fund? Up 40%.
I think the ride is over now. Any of my DWTI mates think the time to switch to UWTI is coming soon?
>>1171833
>Remember 2 weeks ago when I said I was going to use DWTI to start a Mercedes fund?
Nope. How much did you place in the fund?
>>1171838
10,000
So right now I could buy myself a sweet 2007 S550 with 183,000km on it.
It's a start?

>buying a mercedes with more than 100k miles
111k miles on an s class at that. Have fun getting raped on maintenance, parts, etc.
Hey, /biz/, my goal is to be a baked goods vendor, selling at the local farmer's markets and other such events. I'm a pretty good novice with the items I plan to sell, but I'm wondering if it would help to gain some professional/school training first. My local CC offers a AS in Baking and Pastry Management, would it be worth taking this on just to open a small business or can I pretty much just keep learning on my own?
Also, I know business degrees aren't exactly valuable these days, but where else can I best learn about managing a small business?...

Before you go and pay some hack for a dodgy degree in "pastry management". Go find some patisseir that looks high grade, and tell them you'd love to come and work and learn as much as possible. They'll pay you nothing, and you'll do a lot of washing up, but its cheaper than some dodgy course and you will learn more if you're observant.

Baking isn't simple you fucking idiotic cuck cunt.
I'd like to see you make 5000 loaves of gluten-free nutrient-enriched large-loaf brown bread.
What are the best trading apps and platforms that also offer demo/training accounts?
Most interested in binary options right now but I want to try everything.
This could also be put into the sticky if we can make a list or something.
Cheers
Also the sticky should offer more information in general. Like a list of stuff to read, links to trading websites and good news sources etc., some infographics..
>>1171564
>hi im new, let me tell you how to run your board.
>>1171570

Okay buddy
What does the word "business" actually mean? If you start your own business what does that mean?
It means you have >0 employees.
>>1171581
>what is a sole proprietorship
lmao
>>1171556
When people say "start your own business" they are referring to the act of establishing some legal way of earning income without having someone over you in the job hierarchy, OP.
Security Analysis and The Intelligent Investor, published in 1949, are Benjamin Graham's two most widely acclaimed books. Warren Buffett describes The Intelligent Investor as "the best book about investing ever written."
