How do I develop the social skills necessary to succeed in normie white collar environments? I'm probably not even an introvert. It's just that the amount of fakeness necessary to function in the work place tears at my soul. It's like everyone has to act in a fake way at the workplace. I used to think this was something exclusively done by strippers etc. The more experience I get in the workplace, the more I think that it's important. I now suspect that it's at least 90 % of the game.
In addition: It really feels like people actively despise you...

>It really feels like people actively despise you if you refuse to play the social game.
Because you make it awkward for everyone else. It's like when someone asks you
>Hey hows it going?
and then you reply
>Shit actually, I lost an online argument and my apathy is killing me, my parents never GOT me that's the problem
Like dude no one gives a shit. Most people just want to go to work, do their...

I'm not really sure. I work in a pretty big office as a programmer. Everyone is pretty much ok with me being an introvert and keeping to myself. But I do take some time to be polite and speak to people occasionally. Im not sure what kind of job you have that requires so much socialization during work where you feel it is 90%.
Just try to relax and not worry about it. No one gives as much of a shit as you think they do.

How much money, collectively, could there be in the big illegal trades of the world? Drugs, weapons, human trafficking, etc. Could there be select people leading these crimes and living like kings. Seems simple to mass murder these people and/or take over the game.
>>1070125
It is difficult to calculate the figures of illegal immigration, but I can assure you it will always be larger than whatever is reported. The reason for this is because employers will obviously pay illegals with cash, because you require a social security number for a checking account (which is required to have paychecks forwarded into a bank account).
It is very difficult to track paper money. It just gets exchanged by the hand. There is no online index tracking the flow of this. Any reportso n illegal immigration...

It seems like it would be somewhat simple to destroy a corporation such as this. You just need enough bullets and a plan to not get caught(cyanide pills).
Many of these industries are estimated in the billions.
>Could there be select people leading these crimes and living like kings
Yes there is absolutely some "kingpins". - This is clearly proven when one "supposed major guy" gets arrested and then analysts see that all of a sudden there's a 50% decrease in a certain activity with clear characteristics that lump it all together.
Many examples of this.
How important is having a private SSL certificate for a non-ecommerce site?
boards.4chan.org/g/
>>1070131
No it's not a tech question. It is a question about if not having a SSL certificate will scare of visitors with a non-ecommerce site. If I was asking about how to install it or how to works you would have a point.
If you're collecting data or have authentication, yes. If it's just a static landing page or something no. To add SSL lookup LetsEncrypt

Do you take social functions into account when you make your career choices? It seems certain career paths offer some God tier social events, e.g. politics, entertainment, journalism (?), academia, international business, etc. Does this matter to you? Do you have any goals like that?
>>1068916
adam smith talked about this in wealth of nations so I mean its a pretty old concept, some careers pay in social capital and not just money
its why some jobs are popular despite depressed wages, they pay out in other ways

I still think Costco makes literally no money on these. They haven't raised the price in at least a decade either.
Alright, guys. I got a comfy office job in which I often times don't have anything to do in. In fact, I'm making this thread from the office right now.

Anyone here /Villanova/ grad?
I'll be attending Villanova in the fall. I intend to major in finance and accounting. One of the guys at my gym is a goldman sachs IB who's making $200k a year at 27 and he went to Villanova. Is Villanova a good target school for IB? Thoughts? Opinions?
>>1071004
Nova civil engineer here.
Only making $73k, should have done business school. Was making about 130-140k when I worked on the road as a 24 year old though. It is a place to be for business, engineering, and nursing. Stick with the finance/accounting.

Seriously, what the fuck!? Elon Musk started SpaceX all by himself, she had nothing to do with it...and now she's entitled to a 5% stake in his company just because she's divorcing...

Hey /biz/, is there any way to develop your charisma? Particularly, I wanted to be good at speaking English since it's a must in a business world, problem is that it's hard for me to speak clear and straight since I have a speech disorder, and being born in a non-English speaking country, I have literally nobody to talk to in English.
You should take song lessons.
Also sing/speak with equipment playing back what you say(otherwise you have no way of correcting speech errors), and do mirror training.
The other way to develop it, is to interact properly with people. Which is hard. Since spilling spaghetti makes it harder to get to the level where you can develop a lot.

>The other way to develop it, is to interact properly with people. Which is hard.
I know this. People often give me this confused expression when I said something, it's as if I speak another language they're not familiar with. I had a hard time speaking with people especially when I get to talk about something since I couldn't come up with anything to say instantly unless I give myself some time to think of what to say first, or else I wouldn't know if I...

Do you need high testosterone to become a successful entrepreneur? Is /fit/biz/ the master race?
I mean, look at Mark Cuban. He has a very masculine face.

Nah you just need to be an evil ugly j. Look at Soros.
High testosterone is beneficial because it's correlated with higher drive/motivation.

Any advice for seniors who are frantically searching for jobs beginning after graduation?
>>1070029
well if you dont have a plan now then i assume you don't have any field experience through internships yet. but you've got what like 3 months or so? start putting your resume out there through hiring websites like monster.com and such, also look into getting your resume into newspapers. just put down that you're about to graduate and will have the degree. don't limit your audience to the local area, make sure you post the resume in places with industry for your line of work, you might be surprised.
you...

Tune up your brand. You're selling yourself. LinkedIn and social media should be polished. Network with your professors and any connections you can. Call every recruiter you can find. The more exposure you have the more likely you will be to find something.
In order of desirability
1. your dream job
2. a job related to your dream job
3. excel monkey, call center, and other jobs that need more than a HS diploma
4. drop the degree and get whatever gives 40 hours a week
Anyone who made it through college should be able to #4. Look clean and don't act like you are on drugs. Having a job is better than no job. You can jump to #2 or #3 through temp agencies. Temp jobs are willing to train the right person, but can dump you with a phone call.
The only way you get #1 out of college is through connections...

Hey /biz/, where can I buy some Etherium for USD?
I only want to put in $100 for the fuck of it. I've been looking but all I found was mining and BTC/ETH exchanges.

I went for an interview, then a few weeks I went for a follow up talk. After this talk, they asked me to send them a copy of my Driving Licence, proof of National Insurance and Passport. What does that mean ? Did I get the job ? They didn't say yes or no.
Sounds like they're stealing your identity, I wouldn't do it anon. Tell them to suck it, send dick pic
Just censor the stuff they would need to get a loan and a creditcard in your name etc.
