How do I develop the social skills necessary to succeed in normie white collar environments? I'm probably not even an introvert. It's just that the amount of fakeness necessary to function in the work place tears at my soul. It's like everyone has to act in a fake way at the workplace. I'm not really sure. I work in a pretty big office as a programmer. Everyone is pretty much ok with me being an introvert and keeping to myself. But I do take some time to be polite and speak to people occasionally. Im not sure what kind of job you have that requires so much socialization during work where you feel it is 90%.

Only making $73k, should have done business school. Was making about 130-140k when I worked on the road as a 24 year old though. It is a place to be for business, engineering, and nursing. Stick with the finance/accounting.

Hey /biz/, is there any way to develop your charisma? Particularly, I wanted to be good at speaking English since it's a must in a business world, problem is that it's hard for me to speak clear and straight since I have a speech disorder, and being born in a non-English speaking country, I have literally nobody to talk to in English.
You should take song lessons.
Also sing/speak with equipment playing back what you say(otherwise you have no way of correcting speech errors), and do mirror training.
The other way to develop it, is to interact properly with people. Which is hard. Since spilling spaghetti makes it harder to get to the level where you can develop a lot.

well if you dont have a plan now then i assume you don't have any field experience through internships yet. but you've got what like 3 months or so? start putting your resume out there through hiring websites like monster.com and such, also look into getting your resume into newspapers. just put down that you're about to graduate and will have the degree. don't limit your audience to the local area, make sure you post the resume in places with industry for your line of work, you might be surprised.

Tune up your brand. You're selling yourself. LinkedIn and social media should be polished. Network with your professors and any connections you can. Call every recruiter you can find. The more exposure you have the more likely you will be to find something.
In order of desirability
1. your dream job
2. a job related to your dream job
3. excel monkey, call center, and other jobs that need more than a HS diploma
4. drop the degree and get whatever gives 40 hours a week
Anyone who made it through college should be able to #4. Look clean and don't act like you are on drugs. Having a job is better than no job. You can jump to #2 or #3 through temp agencies. Temp jobs are willing to train the right person, but can dump you with a phone call.
The only way you get #1 out of college is through connections...
