He's literally been calling a crash all the way up from over 5 years ago, missing out on literally over 100% returns on the S&P 500 if you look at total return.
Then in 2015 this was his advice on what to do with 100k:
1) Gold: went down more than 20%. No dividend income
2) Miners: -33%
3) Avoid USD. Literally everyone knew the USD would become stronger with the prospects of interest rating increases and the rest of the world spamming QE while the FED is (at least trying) to avoid more QE.
It's as if you guys WANT to lose money.
Right now the markets have seen a very healthy correction which will bring in P/E to a more acceptable level. Sure it may go down another 5% but betting on a complete crash is just stupid.
You should be starting to buy in phases right now. Not sell.
Fuck Peter Schiff.

buy high sell high, that is how the pros did it in 1720, 1929 and do now.
Are u new?
No one here likes him because he is the quintessential of a broken clock
The only reason he isn't laughed off the face of the earth is because he literally got on tv the day before the 2008 crash and spewed the same doomsday shit he had been since 2000 and still spewed for the last 7 since 08.
I remember a huge controversy where Dave Ramsey, of all people, said exactly this right before the crash, and people were calling Dave a hack for it, even though Dave was 100% correct

No one likes Peter Shill.
His "predictions" are retarded. He's literally /pol/-tier.

What are your thoughts on ZeroHedge?
Yeah, they are pretty doom and gloom, but I find them still to have pretty decent analysis, especially as events are unfolding.

Trash. I read it once, its a poisonous place. I don't let bullshit into my thoughs, but then again I dont tell people what they should or shouldnt do.
Conspiracy theorizing with a veneer of economics. Avoid like the plague.

dunno about these guys, but if you historically look at it, most of their "conspiracy stuff" turns out to be true like the whole Hillary Benghazi thing.
Other than that, it's accurate in its analysis of the economic situation, they stress fundamentals pretty heavily like CPI, sales, earnings and whatnot.
Just avoid most of the comments and any articles that list "X # of reasons why ___" that don't have any graphs.
Russian government will gibe Far East clay to every Russian citizen if he wants since march 2016.
It must be 1 hectare per person and far from big cities.
What can I do with possible clay? You must understand there is no infrastructure and climate is mostly continental and pretty harsh.
I thing I must legalize the ownership of some southern Kurilian island clay on warm ocean shore and live there like Di Caprio.

beautiful island. I dont know is it included into program(probably no, since it's on border and have strategic meaning; or not; idk) , but it's nice and close to Japan(actually, we took it in 1945, so Japan claim it's right on it every time)

How do i get connections if im socially retarded? Is there a roleplay manual i can work through or something
>inb4 how to win friends and influence people
Just practice socializing. If you're in school, join a club or something. Or you can go to a random social event and just talk to people. If you screw up, who cares, you'll never see them again. There's isn't a checklist to run through for social events, and if you apply one, you'll sound like a robot.
>>1046176
>If you screw up, who cares, you'll never see them again
This is one of the most liberating realizations I had as an autist OP.
Drive out to an area unfamiliar to you and just start conversations with people(maybe gurls if you're le no gf virgin), you can practice your conversation skills and if you say something retarded it doesn't matter because you don't know them and will never seen them again.
It's really a humbling exercise to realize...

So after seeing "The Big Short" I see a similarity between 08 and present day.
All the loans being given to privately held unicorns, are those going to cause the next economic problem? To me it seems like they're getting their initial capital via crowdfunding -and then getting a business loan from xyz bank.
If they company does fuck all and defaults on it's debt, what happens?
>>1048119
Unicorns are largely VC funded and have limited debt to default on. At worst the equity value goes to 0 and the private investors get hosed.
There are a lot of movements to allow regular people to invest in private markets though and if that happens then unicorns could become a systemic risk, eg if too many retards buy uber shares because it's cool
That risk has already been in public markets for a while (see: enron, worldcom) but private markets are reeeeeeally sketchy
>>1048130
Is there any hard data that would demonstrate the funding sources of those unicorns? Are those VCs using liquid capital or are they leveraging loans or investments?

Not very if you don't mind holding it for awhile. Oil won't go up soon but must do eventually
>>1048007
>Oil won't go up soon but must do eventually
That's speculation at its finest. Oil is subject to laws of supply and demand.
OP, you need to realize that most stocks prices are indicative of their worth, all things considered. If this was a huge bargain, people would be buying this shit up.
You need to find out how long the company can hold out being undercut (cash) and what their break-even price is. Then you would need to calculate at what price level the company can start turning a decent profit again and whether that price level is at a point in time which you are comfortable with (assuming the company doesn't go under or get bought out for pennies by a competitor).
If you just want to gamble on a racehorse, you could just do that and find out how it went fairly quickly. If you want to make an investment, you need to calculate your odds.

Wait until it changes its ticker to CHKQ
Is it this easy?
I am going to dip my toe into stock trading for the first time in a month or two. I've been following the market a lot and see these kinds of moves a lot.
So, if I were to buy 500 shares of Code Rebel Corp on January 16th for $1085 and I liquidated that entire position tomorrow when the market opens, I'd be $745 richer?
How difficult is it to be able to see these kinds of moves in the market coming and do many people find success doing this?
If it was easy, everyone would do it. Don't lose your head when your stocks are on the red for a long time. Also, I'm not sure if this is the best time to be buying stocks since there's a correction on the way, at least that's what quite many people are anticipating.
Then again buying stocks now might give you a good teaching. Go for it but just don't put any more money than what you're willing to lose.
>>1047954
>if I were to buy 500 shares of Code Rebel Corp on January 16th
IF ... so why didn't you?
>>1047954

Yes people make money doing it. They also lose money getting it wrong.

What kind of selling are you planning, OP? FBA? Merchant fulfilled? How do you plan on sourcing inventory?
Pic is my 2015 sales on Amazon
>>1047884
I am planning to take full advantage of FBA as I will be working another 3 jobs at the same time and packaging etc is not really going to be an easy option.
I am planning to start of private labeling, I also have a few unique original ideas that I wish to peruse in the future if things go well.
