I am 19, I want to make a useful website or mobile app with the aim of presenting myself to other people. The product is supposed to becmoe more or less popular or recognizable (not some shitty startup nobody gives a fuck about), I'm ready to invest all my effort and talent (got some pretty good programming skills). I'm not hoping it will generate revenue, appreciate any ideas.

>Hi, I'm Anon, I made XXX when I was 19
>You seem to be a very smart guy btw
Exaggerated, but I'm sure you got the point.

>Literally no question in the OP

What is the point of this thread? Do you want us to give you good luck? Or did you want us to give you the idea of the "useful website or mobile app"?

Not trying to sound mean just want you to be more specific
>>
>>1373404
The idea, obviously.

He's clearly doing what he stated in OP.

How many active users / day would a forum need to generate some sort of decent income. Maybe $3-10/day? (adsence etc)

I have an idea for one, but I am not sure how I would direct users/traffic towards it.

I don't think adsense allows forums.

But on a regular website you could get like 8 to 15 dollars for 1000 visitors.
Some people manage to get it all the way up to 45 dollars while shitters might earn 1 dollar.

It's easy to get and keep up if you actually work on it.
>>
>>1373370
I have the idea in mind already, domain and site is live. I just need to select what topics to add and how to get users.

I think adsense is allowed if there is no sexual / illegal content on the forum, I will read the terms before adding them into the site.
>>
>>1373374
Well, perhaps they do allow forums. But I think you are taking the hard route trying to build a community without your own content.

>Hi /biz/, where can i hold safely my cryptocoins?
In an offline wallet

>If i buy some TRUMPS, NXT and BTC in different sites, could i storage all of them in just one place?
Wtf?
>>
Safest place is always a local wallet installed on your PC or phone. Make sure you create backups and store them on separate media (flash drives, printed paper, etc).

It would be nice to consolidate all holdings in one place, other than an exchange. It seems like there's a market for it, so I hope somebody figures that out.
>>
>>1373390
For example, if i buy some TRUMP in Yobi, BTC in Circle and NXT in Poloniex, i cant put all together in just one wallet?

Are capital gains and dividend taxes 0 in NZ?
6 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
No. Not really. We have capital gains but you don't get charged if it's not considered an 'investment' (i.e. no tax on gains from your own personal home, but tax on gains from investment properties).

It's not as good as you think. The tax burden is less overall, but you tend to earn less compared to other Western countries. Moreover, there are fuckall ways of buying shares in this country. If you sign up to ASB sharetrading they charge you a fuckton to do anything. I'm talking about 150-200 per buy.
>>
what is and share trading, and is there any good way around it?

if i buy 10 single family middle class cheap homes there, and rent them out...

Is that all tax free?
>>
>>1373264

I don't believe you're charged on rent. Could be wrong, but I've never heard of it.

But do you have $10 million? Or $2 million for the necessary 20% deposits? Oh, and if you're not a resident here you won't be able to get money now since the banks have cracked down on it. You'll need that money to buy that many houses here in the only city worth living in (Auckland) if you want to make money.

It's the most expensive city in the world by capita now man. I love New Zealand, but I can't justify living here much longer. Way too expensive. Everything is.

I have about $270 in robinhood. But I'm not sure what to do with $2k. I thought about dumping it into acorns or looking at the top 50 performers on investopedia simulator and just copy them.

The reason being. I'm scared to take responsibility for $2k worth of stocks and losses on that amount. I'm fine with losing 10% on my $270 investment. But 10% on $2000 is a lot.

losing 200 is nothing, you are not ready to invest in the stock market
>>
>>1373201
I know $200 is nothing. I've seen the RH generals of people losing half their portfolio in a single day. Literally thousands. I just wouldn't be too happy about it. That's two days wage for me

German fag here.

I'm thinking about getting a house near the university I studied and rent a portion of it to students or foreign visitors.

I know buying a house for myself is just watch good money rot, but using it as a side business opportunity and also being rent free when I'm older seems smart.

Redpill me please.

Are you implying its bad to buy a house for yourself and renting is better? You are a retard with no business sense
>>
>>1373207
>>1373169

I try to explain again, with the background that paying a house and rent equals the same in the first 20 years.

Buy house --> Only you live there --> house needs fixing --> you lose money --> Bad decision

Buy house --> rent part of it it to others --> have additional income --> house needs fixing --> no loss of money --> good decision

I just got a gift of $1500 and I'm looking to invest it! What should I invest that money into and why?

Government bonds, they pay well and are secure. I'd go with Japan......maybe Switzerland.

Yeah, go with Japan.
But make sure they're 30 year.
Don't buy any of that 15 year shit.

Hello /biz/
I've never been on here before, so forgive me if this question has been asked many times before.
I've recently come across a substantial amount of money for a working class individual. I want to invest it.
My question is: what is the surest investment? I was planning on buying gold, since I've always been told that gold is the best investment.

This poster hit the nail on the head.
>BUT
You have to make sure you're going through the right country to capitalize on government securities. I'd currently go with Japan and if you're young and you want to make a secure long term investment, get some of their 30 year bonds for solid yields.
>>
>>1373069
>I just want to make "guarenteed" money even if it's just .1% every year.

If you don't beat inflation, you're a fucking loser.
If you don't beat market indexes (SP500, NASDAQ, Dow Jones, etc), you're still losing.

Is there any reason why Arabian (Qatar, SA, UAE, Oman) universities are ranked so low worldwide?
10 posts and 1 images submitted.

Interesting. I would guess it's because they're cash rich but talent poor. A lot of good academics (in other words, Western educated ones) who would move to those countries to teach would be doing it for monetary reasons only.

They might be great research environments for all I know, but I'm sure the perception is that they are stifling, racist and ultimately dull places, filled with cronyism, nepotism and a high turnover for staff. Add to that the fact that unmarried couples can't legally be together in many of these shitholes, let alone gays, and the fact that women have shit rights in general, means that few genuinely driven and ambitious people would be willing to move there. This is bad, because the only academics worth anything are Western ones, with only a few exceptions.

I mean, you get the impression that the Westerners who move to these places are only planning to stay for say, half a decade at max. They're not going to put the effort in even if they're good at their jobs.

Funnily enough though, I was reading that a shitload of these Islamists and terrorist leaders are in fact educated. They go to some ME university and find they can't get a job afterwards, so get pissy and blame Satamerica. I think it's just how the system works -- the West is the best for universities, because universities and for that matter rational inquiry are Western things. Everything about modern institutional learning is Western: it's a hidden hegemony (read Adorno about this if you're curious). If you can't get Westerners, you're not going to get a good university.
>>
>>1373080
Alright, because I was thinking of doing a semester abroad at one of these institutions. The thought behind this was that being a white Westerner who knows a lot about the culture and language would pay off greatly, working for the US government, or a multinational company or something. Do you have any advice?
>>
>>1373098

I would recommend you do it, but only for learning Arabic. You won't get much cred for going to study in these places, I think. Why not try some Euro university?
