Does anyone here use Udemy?

There are tons of courses of any kind but the quality varies a lot between courses/instructors since anyone can make one (instead of having a set of experts like on Lynda), but they're not all necessary bad.

Any good tutorial worth investing in?

I'm particularly interested in something to learn to make a few bucks online in the short term.

Pluralsight is better. You pay a flat rate and you can watch as many courses as you want

this.

Although someone gave me a Chris Bryant video course from Udemy for the CCNA and it was pretty good.
>>
>>1284992
>>1285002
Yeah, I think Skillshare is like that as well, but the problem is that they don't have the wide variety of courses that Udemy has.
Also on Udemy most courses are often discounted at about 10 bucks and stay in your account forever. That's much cheaper than paying for an expensive monthly/yearly plan.

Also you can be a jew if you want and watch/download all the videos, and then get the refund kek.

I'd suggest buying a used car for 6 - 8k and don't bother with financing. I'm warning you now. If you ignore this, at least factor in the cost of insurance which is $250 - $450 a month.

Good luck.

To those of you concerned about this Friday pump thing, i wouldnt worry.

The video is being made atm (its actually 1 of at least 3) and is being edited as I'm typing this now. I don't know why people got Friday in their heads because I never said that would be the release but rest assured its on its way

Even if it dropped today its not going to instantly change the price so everybody chill. Shill it like crazy when its out, I hope to see it spread, but in the meantime enjoy the food and beverages, the rocket will be taking off shortly

trump to the moon! OP, you are missing the train, bruh, dont get nervous now.
>>
>>1292697
Afraid not, you'll have to go buy and then cash out at the moon through bitcoin. Plenty of tutorials on how to buy it really isn't that hard.
>>
only a private transfer where you send some money and they send Trump Coins to your wallet. but do you trust someone enough to send them money via paypal or some other form?

download the wallet from here: http://trumpcoin.rocks/
and get it synced. or you can open an account at c-cex or yobit and get a trump coin wallet address.

buy some BTC today and get on with it.

Which country are you in? Some BTC providers are quicker than others.

I build tables and sell them on etsy, facebook, and craigslist for $450-650/each. I want to sell a group of 10 tables wholesale for $180-200/each.

How do I do this? I'm decent at finding retail customers, but I've never even thought about wholesale business before.

That's a pretty good business you got there. I would firstly find a friend who can help me build as many as you can. Find other shops in your town who would purchase it and start your own wood crafting business.

Thanks! I'll look into that. I know there are some consignment shops local to me. Probably a good place to start.

Xango, a multilevel marketing company that sells a multitude of products that are supposedly anti-microbial, anti-flammatory, anti-viral and anti-cancer. These products range from juices to powders to ointments. Your standard snake oil.

The reason I've started a thread about this, is because I've seen multiple people around me get drawn into this scheme. It started last summer.

>Be me, a college student who studies economics.
>Meet new people over summer vacation
>While we're out and having some beers somewhere, we start talking about our jobs/studies.
>This guy, who's about 19, starts talking about this entrepeneurship that he's undertaking with a friend.
>Of course I become interested.
>He talks about working as a distributor for a company that's going to change the market with their new products.
>So far nothing too suspicious.
>"And it's great, because we're being coached by people above us."
>Alright, that's pretty standard.
>"And we can move up a tier by recruiting people to distribute under us!"
>This was taking a dark turn.
>He begins to talk about how at some point, you won't even have to do any work and that you can have passive income.
>I ask him what "work" entails.
>Apparently, all you have to do is sell a certain amount of products that you can buy from the company, and that by moving up, you can sell to the people below you.
>He picks up a beerfelt, and literally starts drawing what looks like a pyramid scheme on the back of it.
>Try to explain to him that he and his friend might have been drawn into a pyramid scheme.
>They don't know what a pyramid scheme is.
>Carefully explain to them what it is, and how in the long run they're going to be left missing a lot of money and how this will inevitably end etc.
>They refuse to believe that and go on about how Xango is a legitimate company and so on.
>Elect to forget all of it and just have a good time.
>A couple months later, one of them asks if I want to hang out.
Part 2 in a bit.

Part 2:

Let's call the guy Ramon.
>Sure, why not?
>I come to his house, and he offers me a beer as I step in.
>Alright.
>He shows me around the house a bit, introduces me to his mom and pets and all that.
>Walk into his room and see that there is a whiteboard, a beamer and all kinds of graphs.
>Wat.
>A guy I still know from elementary school steps into the room.
>Apparently, he was invited too.
>Actually have fun catching up with him and talking about our lives so far.
>Ramon has brought a friend of his who is with Xango (his name will be John).
>Ramon and John begin a goddamn sales pitch, talking about how they are all for "self-improvement", being economically independent and, I shit you not, "Tribe-building".
>I thought I was going to hang out with this guy, drink some beers and play some games and now I'm hearing a couple of hours long salespitch.
>It starts with how they were in high school.
>No direction, no motivation and no idea on what to do in life.
>Until they found Xango, that is.
>After hearing their life story, they talk about the products and how mangosteen is the most important discovery in the last few decades.
>As soon as it's done, thank them for the story and compliment them on their presentation skills. (They actually set up a pretty good presentation)
>Together with the other guy, we make up a bullshit excuse on how we have to go now so we don't have to stay around much longer.
>We both agree on that this was all incredibly fishy.
>Over the course of months, hear of a lot of friends about how they got invited for these presentations under the guise of hanging out.

Now, this isn't so bad since they didn't have a lot of succes so far. The only problem is, is that when I go out, and those guys are around, there seems to be a bigger group of them each and every time. They especially go for people that are easily influenced and really not that popular so they can expand the "tribe".

So I decided to look into the company myself.

Apparently, this company has been founded in 2002 and has had an enormous amount of lawsuits on their hands.

Among them were the unproven health benefits of their products (because how the hell is juice going to help with cancer).

Another lawsuit in Italy d.d. 3rd of january 2011 proved that Xango was, in fact, a pyramid scheme and suspended all their activities.

But if that wasn't enough. Guess who was on the board of directors as a "banker"?

Pic related.

Not only was he found out for stealing a lot of money from the company, he's also responsible for the bankruptcy of Phoenix gold firm North American Coin and Currency, a billion dollar company in the 80's. He actually went to jail for this.

So what do? I know of about 12 people who are already working as a distributor for this company.

Been thinking about giving up on life & joining the military. What are some of the actual benfits (finacial, healthcare, dental etc.?) & what are the drawbacks? (ptsd, hiring troubles, etc.)

Security clearance, Free college and a bit of cash just for getting in shape and learning a trade for a job you only do for 2 days a month that will let you meet contractors for a high paying civilian job.
>>
>>1292115
Getting shot. Although I guess that could be a benefit or a drawback depending on your perspective.
>>
Most jobs involve 0 combat so that's only a concern if you want it to be. You'll work a lot but almost all your paycheck is disposable. Companies usually view military service as a positive. You'll probably end up with various sports injuries because people who run PT will make you do all kinds of stupid shit. All in all it isn't a bad deal.

Is it just more, or does this look like it's priming for another crash?

no it's not just you, it's probably tens of thousands of other economists who have been predicting the same thing

I'm having a bit of trouble with this one accounting question for depreciation on building/land.

Acquired a property of land and buildings for $1,500,000. Management estimates value of the land to be 40% of cost. Estimated useful life of 50 years.

After 25 years, property is revalued to $1,200,000, expected life remains the same and salvage value is $100,000.
What's the revaluation gain/loss and new depreciation expense one year after?

Any help or being pointed in the right direction would be great.

Don't know shit about accounting other than the 2 college classes I took 7 years ago; yet, I found several good answers online with a quick google search.

If you still need an answer tomorrow and for whatever reason can't find one online, I know a guy who used to be an account executive at Deloitte and is a legit CPA. I can show him this and I'm sure he'll know what to do.

>Live in an apartment with three other roommates.
>Sleep in a futon in the living room.
>Have a drawer and wardrobe for clothes
>Roommate sleeps alone in his room, all to himself
>Only pays a third of rent to have a room to himself to bring girls over to cheat on his girlfriend with
>Decides to tell landlord to go fuck himself and make modifications to the apartment
>Come home from summer classes, roommate's dad is over
>His dad works in construction
>They will make a new room, more like a closet, for a new tenant
>Decide I've had enough of this bullshit and want to move out

So my question is, what is the legality of a tenant modifying his living space? Will I lose my deposit if he goes through with it? Will we be taken to court by the landlord? How fucked am I if my roommate goes through with this? I am in Southern California.
