Open a brokerage account on Vanguard and throw it into the same shit as your IRA.

That is assuming you're not taking advantage of any 401(k) and taking stupid amounts out of your paycheck to make that $18k contribution.

hey /biz/, I was wondering if anyone could explain the actual importance of compound interest

It's something that Warren Buffett has praised as a key to his success, all wise men seem to have some reverence for it, but one can take the time to learn the math, the formula involved, and still not completely understand its practical purpose?

I get that we're talking about long periods of time. But whenever you talk about interest rates that would actually be beneficial in this lifetime, the phrase "of course you'll never find rates like THAT with actual banks." always seems to cancel out it's applicability. How does compound interest apply to investing, in the real world?

Sorry for bad English, I'm from Pennsylvania.

It's a sort of "trick" to get you to invest with that bank/establishment/whatever

But you can absolutely benefit too. With like an 8% compound interest rate you can turn 80K into 450K in 20 years, with your initial investment doubling in 9 years.

The only thing is you wanting to invest boatloads of money for years and years for your older less sexy self instead of use 80K for all kinds of other shit in your 20s, if you even got it.

(dont pick apart my math we just happened to do this problem at college this week)

It's not really a bad deal, just incredibly long term.

Honest answer, if you have nothing better to do with it, invest it on cetes directo. Seriously. Is the mexican equivalent to the us treasure bills, that is, a government backed instrument.

And no, it won't made you rich, you'll earn a few cents each month, literally. However, and this is the trick, by messing around with the different instruments the site is offering, you can learn about how the thing works on the real market, you're pretty safe because the government is far away from declaring bankruptcy (despite what the retards from the left claim), and if you play your cards right, you're actually beating inflation, so your money isn't losing value.

And no, I won't tell you which ones are the winner cards, learn that by yourself.

How do you even buy gold? Do you buy a gold backed type of stock or literally go and buy a nugget (fucking where?) and put it under your bed?

Hey /biz/

I've just started looking into CFD trading and opened a demo account with Plus500 (pic related). With the demo account I managed to double the fake $25,000 i was given in a couple of days through forex.

I'm considering opening a real account and depositing $100 and seeing where I go from there, but upon looking into plus500's reviews a found a lot of people complaining about having major issue with withdrawals. Many are calling it a scam.

I wanted to ask you guys if any of you have had experience with plus500. Any problems ? If you don't use it then what CFD trading service do you use/recommend ?

in the future there will be money in gaming, outside of e-sports. in the future big boss companies like valve and blizzard will have their own cryptocurrency, and it will be used to purchase in-game cosmetic items, dlc packages, features etc. it will also be the only currency used to purchase the companies games, and it will be possible to play money-matches against players, where you put tokens on the line that are then paid out to the winner of a ranked match or the winning team. this will be the new era of professional gaming, and there will be serious money in it. the entire steam platform will be valve-coin in the future.

I for one, can't wait.
>>
>>1255381
Where is your evidence that leads to such a speculation? If a company tries to enforce use of their own cryptocurrency for literally every product they sell, then the company that takes actual minted currency is going to take their place.
>>
>>1255374
There is money, but only if you are at the highest tier of play. And even then, the money only rolls in for certain games like Dota 2/CSGO/LoL. IMO the culture surrounding the Esports scene is still in a baby stage. The tournament organizers need to grow up and start taking cheating more seriously. I completely understand that drug testing can be costly, but is it so hard to take better measures to prevent cheating at a LAN? Particularly in the CSGO scene. The players spend so much time playing or cultivating an online personality that they don't often branch out into other shit too. And there's good fucking money to be made in that other shit, but they're just not doing it.

I'm at a bit of an impasse. I graduated in December with a bachelor's in Business Administration (oops), and I haven't been able to find a full-time job, which might be due to a lack of experience:
>3 years of clerical work
>1 semester of marketing for a large theater as part of an internship
>1 semester of tax preparation

I'm in Miami and interested in either a management or marketing job, and I'm not sure of what kind of jobs or where I should be applying to. What should I do?
