Hey /biz/. my dream is to start a co-operative, in the areas of agriculture, web design, software engineering and later, maybe even R&D.
My plan is to buy a huge chunk of land, solar panels (to save up on electricity), tractors and other agricultural real capital (to grow food), then buy very low-cost container houses, and issue invites to qualified Eastern Europeans and 3rd worlders, offering them a work visa and a share in the co-operative profits, housing, utilities and food in exchange for work.
Is this idea retarded? I'm 23 and have $75,000 saved up already....

First you'll have to advertise your plan to some third world schools, then you'll have to sift through all the people who wont just work a bit and leave because they want more than anything to live out of their country, and then you'll have to find people who are talented enough for your commie bullshit, yet are not being headhunted by massive companies who offer more than you.
So you have enough money to pay two minimum wage employees for a year with no other capital funding.

How do you compare dollar currencies to non dollar currencies? For example, as I compare the US dollar to the Euro I see that you'd get 1.15 US for 1 Euro. Wouldn't this mean that the Euro is stronger then? Another example, the rupee, its at 66.35 to 1 USD. How are you supposed to know which one is stronger?

So after paying for tuition for this semester, I'm left with just barely $150.72 in my account. Needless to say, my savings will dwindle as the months go on with the purchasing of study materials and the occasional 3:00 AM takeout. How do I take the little money I have and consistently grow it without resulting to wagecuck that will cut into time that could be spent studying? I've seen Robinhood threads that look appealing but I'm terribly inexperienced when it comes to trading tech analysis and I'm not even sure $150.72 is even enough starting to make any actual money.

i think in your position the only option is to get a job (try and see if there are openings on Campus, maybe you could work with a professor that means you learn something but you can also get money) You may need to resort to wagecuckery which is fine, as long as you dont stay a perpetual wagecuck. All the campus opportunities here are taken up by people who can't even pay tuition. My concern isn't being able to pay tuition. If it comes down to it I can always ask a wealthier family member who happens to like me for a loan. It's a matter of having a way of sustaining my savings. Is there any way I could turn the money into passive income while still having access to it? I don't mind living my day-to-day poor, I just don't want to live my day-to-day broke.

Both of my parents went to Harvard.
They insist that I apply, but the undergraduate program lacks a business major. I'm interested in Marketing and getting an MBA, but my only option is to go for some sort of undergraduate thing like sociology, humanities, or social sciences, which is what they suggest.
My argument is that a degree in sociology wouldn't prepare you best for a graduate degree in Business.
My parents' argument is that a degree in something in humanities at Harvard would expose you to the rest of the world...
