What does an anon need to know about index funds and companies that provide this service?
From someone that doesn't know shit at the stock market and wants to put their savings where they could at least get a 4% yield is there any viable solutions? My bank's best savings plan is now only 2.75% pa interest, went down from 4.75% a few years back.
Robinhood and VOO
>2% yield, but you aren't going to get 4% in an index fund
>>1257496
Interesting, thank you for the information
>>1257496
>you aren't going to get 4% in an index fund
Huh? Equities have averaged 11% annually over the last 90-110 years, give or take. Obviously there are good years and bad years, but that's why we play the long game.
Telling someone that equity indexes return less than 4% shows either a shocking stupidity and ignorance, or a malicious intent. Either way, die in a fire.
Hey /biz/ I got an internship over summer and it's 3 miles away from my apartment.
There is no public transport, even though im in a populated suburban area.
Should I:
>buy a car and use it for 3 months, and then sell it
>lease a car
>get an uber everyday to-and-from (<$20/day)
inb4 bike to work, there is no good trails and i dont want to be a roadcucker
Walk to work or bike to work you faggot.
Buy the best car <$1.8k can get you
>>1257477
he's going to dread having to bike 3 miles to work everyday very quickly

Sitting in the bank.
Would I be able to get a job with a fake degree? I already know most of the topics covered in my major of interest, plus employers don't even verify degrees. Right?
>>1257343
really nigga?
>>1257343
Most dont give a shit, just ask you about your degree and what you learned from it and how you will apply your knowledge. There are some that will want to verify transcripts at larger corps.
But really you could just buy one online from like university of phoenix. Thats what most teachers do.
>>1257343
startups or small companies are a good bet assuming you know the material and can fake it
I received an inheritence, is it possible to negotiate a settlement on student loans in the USA?
>>1257318
dunno about the us but here you can walk into their office put cash on the table any time in any frequency and immediately decreases your loan.
Any thing is possible. The banks will have tremendous recourse with these loans. I doubt its in their interest.
Call. see if it is. It doesn't hurt to ask.
>>1258327
banks will most certainly try anything.
today went to a bank
>hey anon don't you want to replace your student loan (which can go on indefinitely) for a fixed run loan replacement loan?
>uummm why would i want to do that?
>well you know to know when it will end lots of people doing it.
>so they replace a 5% amortizing loan where you can freely decrease the debt any time with a 15% loan...

What are the entry level jobs available to someone with an economics degree?
I'm graduating in June and all I can find is sales.
>>1257268
>economics
I thought all you people went and got a doctorate or at least a masters.
>>1257268
I have a BS in Economics and I'm a Data analyst. Have you tried looking into some type of analytics job? They seem to like Econ majors for whatever reason. So far the Data meme has paid off for me. And by paid off I mean I'm not unemployed or making $12 an hour.
Apply to some highschools
Bonus points if its a shithole like detroit so you can claim you inproved the schools stats solo
You will need to work internships to understand the autistic curriculum system
>Level III in 2 weeks
>still getting incredibly drunk almost every night despite hating myself the next day
Anyone else putting themselves through this silly test?
nah, but i'm studying for NV CEM test in sept.
>>1257184
That's cool, I hope you're not a hippy.
>>1257179
Yeah mate. I'm doing the same thing. Study for maybe an hour each evening and then get wasted.
The CFA isn't even relevant to my career yet somehow I've made it to Level 3. This is the least motivated I've ever been for a CFA exam. I give myself a 50% chance of passing.

>barely hitting its ATH again after being BTFO
I kekk'ed. I will agree with you that bitcoin is fucked though.
>>1257152
Eth's been dead in the water for months, now it's getting a little rise again, and the screeeching of the shills has reached new levels of irritating. My recommendation is to take this little reprieve to SELL that shit, cause you know deep down in your tiny souls that it's not going to rise much more.
Can we just admit that stocks are betting/a zero sum game.
>but muh growth
Wow more people enter the bubble every year, must mean stock has intrinsic worth.
>but you get things when the company defualts
You get jack shit
>but buybacks and defaults make it imperfect and not 50/50
Main point stands
>but by that definition usd is also a bubble
Yup. 5k years from now when everybody is in their spaceships with infinite food,...

They have a heavy gambling component, but at the same time it isn't like a casino where the odds are deliberately rigged against you.
>>1257067
>stocks are zero sum
So who loses the exact same amount of money you gain or visa versa.
Zero sum means one person loses for another person's gain
This cannot happen when the stock market requires one person to willingly sell/buy and another person to willingly buy/sell

How can I profit from Weedman legalizing it? Stocks, business opportunities, etc
CGC- Canopy Growth Corp
APH- Aphrix Inc.
Stocks are trading super cheaply worth a speculative add, although I think there will be hiccups with the legalization plan
>he still haven't bought OGI
Current fair value of stock is $1.40 range, and this will hit $2 by January. Massively undervalued

Am I suppose to fill out a personal allowance sheet? Filled out my online tax sheet and their was a question, "fill out personal allowance sheet?" With a yes or a no. So I hit no and submitted it but now I'm freaking out because I feel like that was the wrong option

Does Big 4 hire non-accounting majors? I've been thinking of majoring in Business admin with an emphasis in Finance but I would like to up my chances of getting hired. Should I just major in accounting and eventually go for a CPA or stick with Finance? I'm much more interested in Finance but I'll switch if its the best choice.
Of course.
One of the people in my intake studied media studies, to give an idea of how far you can deviate.

Thanks senpai, i'm looking to get some good background in CIS to help make me a solid candidate. I really would love to work there so I just want to do whatever I can to get me hired

I believe PWC actually generates like 60% of their business from "Consulting" services that aren't CPA tax or audit things
Talked with a few people who majored in shit from zoology to communications working at big 4

Oi vey! Bitcoin is crashing!
How low will it go?
Bitcucks on suicide watch
Ethereum will replace this shit. Bitcoin was taken over the Chinese, they have more than 51% of the mining power. Drop it now if you don't want to get burned. Eth is the future
>>1256786
It's just because ETH is booming, which will stop after DAO pre-sale.
Also, a minor correction is not a crash.
>>1256799
Not if you take a look at sentiment, which is way bad in bitcoin right now.
You can feel it is going to go down, everyone in bitcoin is pissed off and buttfrustrated
