Na, its not a scam coin. Its a coin which is not just a clone of bitcoin. Its the most anonymous coin out there. Anonymity is built into monero protocol unlike other shitcoins like dash which uses coinjoin for anonymity.

SP was projected to take the smallest hit, and therefore took the biggest. This is what happens. Overall, I was unimpressed with the "it's happening," although the dow's recovery before closing did surprise me a bit.
