Do you guys partake in the stupid tax? Just a few dollars a month and you could be a millionaire.
No one intelligent plays the lottery
Most of /biz/ probably buys tickets
I buy one (1) ticket if the jackpot gets REALLY high. Otherwise fuck that shit.

my ex partakes in the stupid tax by going to her job where she builds machines that the proles pump money into and bet against each other.
Hello /biz/, I will be inheriting a $47000 CDN mutual fund from my grandmother. Too be divided between me and my two sisters. Anyone know what I should do with it? I know I wanna pay off my credit card debit which is around $1500. I wanted to put some into my savings or into gold and silver.

>I know I wanna pay off my credit card debit which is around $1500
That's a good idea.
>I wanted to put some into my savings or into gold and silver.
Why don't you just put the rest of the money back into a low fee mutual fund (i.e., Vanguard) and get a much better rate than your savings account and less risk than putting everything in precious metals?
Take the money out of the fund, pay off your debt straight out and wait for the next market crash to invest.
>>1352664
>less risk than putting everything in precious metals
Only wanted to put like 2k into silver and gold. I wanted to keep the rest in the mutual. At one point it was at around 67000, not too long ago, a year maybe? My grandma was taking out some and probably had some dips in stocks here and there.

This is a great way to get exposure to Bitcoin in a qualified investment vehicle, which is great for tax-free retirement accounts.

>that feel when lose $10k in btc in one sitting but have $10k left and want to gamble the rest to get it back
FUCK THIS ADDICTION BROS IF YOU HAVE NEVER GAMBLED DONT DO IT
also cryptocurrencys are the devil
I should mention that this $10k in my btc is basically all of my savings, I wanted to get to 100 btc before the halving
>>1352229
I feel you anon, I had the same problem when I started in Crypto in '14. When I think of all the coins I lost and their worth now, I want to hang myself. But what I do is keep 2k on my poloniex account and the rest I automatically send to my BTC ATM wallet so I'm not tempted to fuck around with it.

Any engineers here, or engineering students? I must know what to expect from a mechanical engineering degree, is it worth it or are there better options. I enjoy engineering, but the down side is that I just hate math. I don't suck at it, i just don't like it.
>>1352188
If you don't like math don't be an engineer. Low tier bait
>>1352188
Yes, I am an engineering student
In some countries a regulatory body ensures that a unis degree is up to par, however, I've been told that in America they don't have this. Worth noting that in some countries the Engineering courses are pretty much replicas.
Anyway, to check what classes you have to take google something like "(insert uni name here) mechanical engineering handbook"
You will get something like this

If you like engineering you'll learn math. Math has an idiotic way of being taught at schools. When you know for what you need the calculation in order to calibrate something, you'll use it as any other tool.
- Anyone here have a successful and durable experience in forex trading ?
- What's techniques did you use ?
- With how much money did you begin ?
- Gives me advice for a beginner like me, please.
I am really sad when i read specialized forums in forex, why?
Because all the trading journal I read ends the same way :
They end up losing all their gains and have their account to 0 dollars, after 6 months or 1 year.
I need testimonials from people who really live forex successfully since several years.

I posted a thread here a couple of days ago explaining that I was having trouble finding a co-founder to start a business with. I tried looking online several times but everything failed -- people either wanted to meet with me - which I couldn't do due to family, or they didn't have the time or skills to contribute (I'm a programmer myself so someone who has strong tech skills is a must.)
It didn't make much sense to me since we have all the tools to do everything remotely plus I had already found my first customers which proved that demand existed....

Is your business model organized around a newfound African prince that needs a small bit of capital to access his father's locked away capital?
FYI: There's been a lot of interest from full time students here but my advice to them is to either get your degree and keep up your grades (safest bet) or to drop out and work full time (not that safe, would not recommend for something like this.)
To everyone else who is working a full time job: trying to contribute to this is a very bad idea. You're going to burn out within the first few weeks since you'll have no free time for yourself and you're generally going to hate your life.
Since some of you seem to want to do this part time maybe...

Sorry op, but your scam isn't going to work on biz.
All the gullible NEETS have all their money tied up in shitcoins.
Try posting this in r9k. They usually fall for shit like this
In your opinion, by which age should aspiring /biz/nessmen move out by?
What is the official /biz/ cutoff age to determine manchildren from normal ambitious, adults?
When you find a full time job.
>>1351642
As soon as you do?
Should there be any period of time for you to save money before moving out, and approximately how much should that be, in your opinion?
Move out once you have enough for a down payment on a house or condo or something and have a stable paycheck. Manchild reputation be damned, if I'm saving money and helping out my parents through "rent" then idgaf.
Was wondering if >>>/g/csg would take off here, so I'll just make it and see how things go.

Alright, I'm new to stocks. So far I've been in for a month or so and I've made about $800, for about a 8% profit. I feel like I could do better on stocks with more volatility, and make that much in a week if I did my research.
What volatile stocks do you guys day trade? They can be penny or regular stocks IDC about the price. I was looking at Sprint, CBYL, SKLN, TPX, and HES.
I'm also looking at the biggest losers on the S&P each day, seeing if they're worth buying.
Tell me if I'm on the right track or just being a fucking idiot.
$MGT

Someone brought this up and I'm not sure why. Stocktwits says something's up with this company but I'm not sure what

They seem to be going up and down by about 5-6% everyday, and they're up 12% in the last month. Had a big drop off in February. Most have it as a sell but it might be a decent day trade?
Do any of you guys know of any decent jobs that do not require a degree

Construction flaggers. I know you only need to take a short day course and you'll be allowed to hold the signs up at construction sites. Where I live it pays $50K+ because of hazard pay. Boring af at times tho
>You have to be old and close to death to not work and have a large amount of wealth.
Why don't we do the opposite? Give us a shit ton of money (in the form of a loan) that we spend during the good years of our youth, and then make us work in old age. It seems counter intuitive to waste your youth working your ass to build a fortune, only to enjoy it when your dick stops working and your young looks are gone.
Why don't we just make everything free and then nobody has to work instead?
Look at trust fund babies.
That's why.
because i would just go crazy with wealth and party and then shoot myself right before i had to start working
enjoy collecting debt from the dead
also old people have way more health problems, less physical/mental ability, etc
I'm a college student working first internship. Get paid $13 an hour to sit on 4chan all day because no one ever checks in on me and I have no actual deadlines. Seems like a pretty good racket desu.
Why are offices so inefficient /biz/? I'm fairly sure no one actually works hard.
>>1350483
If no one works hard everyone can just chill and get money
>>1350483
Can anyone explain this phenomenon?

When someone sets up a business he puts his heart and soul into making it work. He inspires everyone he hires to work towards his goal.
Then he gets bought out. A new boss arrives who needs to do reorganize the business to make a profit for the share holders. How do you do that? You cut in the costs. You fire people. Firing the lazy and unmotivated old people is expensive so you fire the young motivated people.
Now only old lazy people are left and share holders without a heart for the business. What...
