Your mom probably has a lot of friends or is good with speaking with people. If you have either of those two, anything is easy.
Its not that easy.
With the crash a lot of agents went to other fields. Who stayed were the wage slaves and the successful. Her 100k in comision will be less than 60k after everything is said and done. By the time you figure it all out, she is making probably around 20-25 dollars an hour.
If she slips up, no profit this year... like literaly, she worked 300+ days for nothing. If she flies, she could make millions. Its all a gamble.

Simply, I have access to factory production prices of circular column form work and wood composite decking with the salesman $% also excluded.
So theoreticaly I have the absolute cheapest price possible without he company taking a profit or a loss. This is due to my girlfriends family owning 50% of the company. It's in China and turns over roughly 10-15million per month USD.

Fortunately Australia is such a small market they have basically thrown my girlfriend and I a bone and told us if we can make sales we will become their distributor in Australia.
They are prepared to send any Australian clients to us and I am having someone create me an account on Alibaba as an Australian representative in Australia.

Trying to talk some sense into my fiance. I already own a home in the US, which was $150k (less than 3x my income). $50 a day is all I need to live comfortably. Maybe $100 in London or Paris. But I have pretty modest tastes.
Then I hear people mention $5000 a month as a comfortable figure. (On the internet, of course. People don't talk about this kind of thing out loud.)
So, just a reality check here: how common is it for people to spend $1000 on purely discretionary things, without any real planning?

What kind of people can spend $1000 without hesitation? It's not a rhetorical question: what's their usual job, their typical attitude? Are they "exclusive" or just ordinary middle class people?
By ivory tower, do you mean subsidized by your parents? If so, it makes sense.
Otherwise, I encourage you to live in Paris or London on a $3k/mo salary and see how comfortable you are.

our food is 25% more expansive than europe (on average)
we pay 70% more on cars than the rest of the world and by 44% more if you only compare basic things like milk bread and eggs
we are currently on 5th place (OECD ranks) in in-equality,just behind mexico
if the numbers are right, in 10-20 years from now you wouldn't be able to live here...
