No bank will touch you, give all your money to the bum down the street and live with an alpaca herder in nepal
>>1026291
i know you want to support your dad but there's gotta be an easier way than that
>>1026279
I'm afraid you're out of luck OP, no one will give a loan to someone with your financial history
Hi biz I make ~14 /hr living with my parents working ~30 hrs a week. My parents pay for everything and I live in an undeniable excess of comfort. That being said I feel as though I should develop my abilities to generate income for the future. I recently dropped out of university and even more recently out of community college (2 years at university, 1 semester at cc). I would really like to develop some income-generating abilities but I do not plan on returning to school any time soon. I have $8000 in the bank and have experience working various odd jobs along with my main...

Why do you keep dropping out?
Why even waste money enrolling if you don't want to do it?
>>1026211
my parents met at college and tried to prepare me for college since I was very young (from what I recall, I would ask questions about their past together and the discussion would often lead to their college days which would then lead to discussions about my future college days). I also have a sister who is 4 years older and graduated from university. My twin brother and I were not prepared to go to college despite our parents efforts. he flunked out his freshman year and I stayed in school "studying" liberal...

Does anyone else want to be rich just because they think it'll make people like them?
That's the case for me, especially when it comes to women.
>>1026107
Money won't make people like you though.
Having some sort of personality + money will tho
>>1026107
>they think it'll make people like them?
> when it comes to women.
Well, it's 110% true.
>>1026107
you'll attract the worst kind of woman
develop yourself for your own sake and everything else will follow
i feel sorry that you are where you are anon
How do we abolish brand loyalty?
by making something better
And better yet, does brand loyalty benefit the consumer in any way? And does the removal of brand loyalty from society benefit our economy overall? It'll certainly support local businesses, but will it benefit large corporations?

There are thousands of fast food chains that are much healthier and taste (subjective) better than McDonalds, yet McDonalds is still on top. Making something "better" doesn't help at all, what really helps something get popular is marketing.

>There are thousands of fast food chains that are much healthier and taste (subjective) better than McDonalds, yet McDonalds is still on top.
mcd has a unique, arguably impossible to recreate at home, taste & menu at their hands.
a problem with a lot of these other fastfood brands is they often taste like something you can prepare at home or close to a similar brand, the food ITSELF has no identity, this is there mcd shines.
Just finished up a deal for some more real estate.
Any other /rich/ bros know how it feels to be rich?
Gonna go buy another few acres for a condominium next week.
What do you do and how/when did you start doing it
Good for you nigger, but this thread ain't really helping anyone here.
>CIBC
>not being part of the TD master race
Just fucking with you son. Good on ya. I have to get back to work. I retired when I was 35 and I'm 42 now and fucking stir-crazy. The first million was so easy I guess my next target should be 5.
Do you use specific benchmark goals to motivate yourself or do you just "MOAR!"
I love working with my hands. What trade should I get into if I want to be either self employed or make more than 50k per year.
Currently doing mexican tier framing for 18 an hour.
is this the highest demand trade in your area? are you in murica competing with mexicans?
>>1025970
I'm in Louisiana. There's a demand for everything here. There's big bucks in oil but you destroy your body
>>1025975
hey anon do you have email? skype?
I have a proposition for you
it's not nice, fun work but it'll grab you a few hundred bucks a day
Wasn't sure if i should ask /lit/ or /biz/ but what are some essential financial books?
>>1025966
This is a good place to start
>>1025966
Just got this. Is it worth reading? It's big, and I got shit to do.
>>1026004
I'm in the same boat
Is the economy actually permanently screwed?
I say yes it is; the petrodollar is being threatened by the ruble, the price of oil is tanking, china's construction bubble will probably sing the death toll for what is really the only manufacturing power on earth, and the wealth of the world is being even split into two groups, with no moderation between.
Is it perma-fucked?
It's just not really going anywhere. I feel like things will just continue being eh until either a major disaster or miracle occur, in which event we'd either decline as a society or reach a new golden age.
>>1025834
Way to hedge your fucking bets.
"Things are going to do what they're doing until they don't"
Brilliant.
>>1025847
I think it's a series of micro-collapses, propped up to keep the whole debt system from falling apart.
In tin foil hat mode; who's buying silver/ gold?
Hey biz
I MAKE ABOUT 15 k a year, get free healthcare, food and housing. Should I even try to make more money or just coast off the government? I have no skills or savings in my mid thirties.
>>1025801
>I have no skills or savings in my mid thirties.
>>1025802
Sorry, I mean I am in my mid thirties with no savings or skills.
>>1025804
Yes I know. That's what I was scratching my head at
Lets discuss tips, tricks and stories of lying on our resumes, or "creatively exaggerating".
I know a lot of people on here are/were having some trouble finding jobs while in school or just freshly graduated so I think this would help a lot of people.(I am one of them)
What are some good ways to lie on your resume that are unlikely to get looked into, senpais?
>>1025749
Tell then you worked for the CIA, but you can't talk about any of it since it's classified.
Fucking apply for a job you qualify for. What the fuck. Most agencies put a person in charge of hiring who knows to look out for BS and test for it. Don't be a retard.
>>1025774
>Fucking apply for a job you qualify for. What the fuck. Most agencies put a person in charge of hiring who knows to look out for BS and test for it
Have you even had more than 5 interviews?
The person hiring literally knows nothing, it's some HR drone or some other retard who seems to never check or even ask technical questions.
how do you participate in 'after hours' ?
Usually with my secretary and with the door locked.
>>1025726
You'd have to have a broker that will grant you access (so not some shit like Robin Hood), and it may be tied to how much money of yours they hold.
>>1025726
On more sophisticated platforms like Interactive Brokers' TWS you can specify that you want the order to participate outside if regular hours as easily as checking a checkbox. But there are greater risks associated with post-market and pre-market trading. So be aware of those. Some include extremely low liquidity, extremely wide spreads, and no price protection on slippage
Hey /biz/raelites
I just watched Margin Call and thought about watching some other, arguably better biz-related movies, something along the lines of the original Wall Street, but any good documentaries are fine too.
In short, movie thread
>>1025438
I liked "hustle" when I was still in highschool, also would say "narcos" is somewhat /biz/ related.
>>1025438
Margin Call was such an oversimplification. Not a bad movie but too many silly Wall Street tropes and all that.
>>1025438
Heres a list op. Related, slightly related and documantry.
American Pyscho
Arbitrage
Barbarians At The Gate
Billion Dollar Day

I'm interested in gold. I don't want to buy more stock at the moment and I believe value of money is going down.
Is gold then the only alternative to park your money while waiting for a sale on stocks? Then also what to buy? ETF? Certificate? What?
silver
Stay out right now. Everyone's been thinking what you're thinking for years, only to have the price steadily decline. Based on the performances last year, precious metals still have room to decrease in price.
Look at silver. It's at like $13 or so now. If it drops to $12 I might buy a 10 ounce bar and some coins.
Look at rhodium as well.
Anyone here play games on youtube for a living?
Can you give tips on making a living? How much do you make?
You don't have to reveal how many subs you have but a general range to give an idea would be useful.
Anyone?
odd question, there might be an experienced youtuber on /biz/ at the moment, but unlikely one who plays games specifically and had any success with it
I guess you are right, maybe anyone that makes money on youtube that can comment would be great.
What are your thoughts on businesses like Uber? I've only seen them work in large cities. And my home town has regulated them right out of the area. Which made buying a car necessary for me.
Incredibly useful.
>>1025204
I should have been more specific in my OP. I meant investment wise. I think they're a smart deal and should grow, but what I saw in my town has me worried. I'm worried other cities might follow suit and kill the whole concept while it's still young.
They will be overtaken by DAOs. There is competitive disadvantage to being centralised.
