Hey /o/, /his/ here.
I recently decided to help my cousin/roomate find himself a new car.
The guy's an absolute madman in an old Civic, but he says he's getting bored of it and wants to buy another car to tune while I use the civic as a DD.
I was helping him look for a car when the Sentra caught my eye (SER V-Spec, specifically).
I'm considering buying one for myself now, but that's beside the point.
Are they good for tuning?
Do they have an "active aftermarket scene"? (his words, not mine)
I haven't decided on...

shameless self-bump, also the model I like.
>>13994757
>drives a civic
>wants a car with more aftermarket
Is your friend on the spectrum op?
Seriously though he should just buy a Miata like everyone else in his position.
>>13994796
I don't think he wants "more", i think he honestly is looking for something different but isn't trying to self-fabricate the parts.
>just buy a miata
does not answer my question in any way
Hey guys. Im thinking about getting a 1990 Nissan GTR from Japan, I've seen a few for around $23,000 USD. I'm really considering this, thing is, I don't like stick shift, I like automatic transmissions. How much would it cost to swap it?
Ishygddt
Some say if you are enough of a collassal faggot, it will turn into an auto all on it's own. It should be no issue for you OP.
So we took 2 cars in as trade-ins this past week, and I am considering picking up one just to have fun with/dick around in for a month or two, then sell off once I have had my giggles.
So which do I get?
-87 Jeep Grand Wagoneer?
OR
-93 Taurus SHO?
kill yourself
why? Most places don't like when employees buy a trade in then flip it for profit
>>13993946
Sales people get first pick of trade ins where I work, management doesn't give a fuck if we flip them on the side, you are just limited by the DMV as to the number you can flip in a year, since they won't ghost title them
Hey everyone,

It's a 2007 Audi A4. It's mine and I want to repair it.
1) How much would the repair of the door cost? I found a side mirror online for $79.
2) The car works just fine. The drivers' door doesn't open, but the other one does. Would it be drivable if I just install a side mirror and make sure the signal works? It took a huge impact, but it drives just fine.
3) Can I somehow remove the airbags? Raise the driver's seat back up? I don't think the window was broken but it doesn't pull up when...

Why did you do that?
>>13993696
look for new doors on craigs.
>>13993696
With the deployed airbag, you are easily looking at 6 grand worth of damage if you source new parts
If you can find a used door and front fender panel, and assuming the pillar isn't fucked,. you might get away for 4K
Well its official
LS engines are better than everything
>LS engine in an Australian V6 Mustang
>Proved to be better
ITT: fat people and their fat engines

>doesn't mention i4 vs v8
>definitely apples to apples
As a fag from another board whose looking for a cheap used car ($5000-$10000 range) what are your opinions on the reliability of different brands of cars as they've aged over the years? I'm mostly looking in the last decade vehicles, but all I know about car reliability is that Toyotas are good and Hondas are easy to fix.
I come to you so you can slap the crap out of me with your knowledge on basic reliability cause I don't trust those user reviews from sites like Edmunds (majority of them are just trying to justify themselves for buying that car) or all...

Get a Fiat 500
>>13993645
It's not just the brand that matters, but also the model.
Get a Civic, Accord, Camry, or Corolla.
I wish bikes looked that rad
What does it mean when someone calls your car a "boy racer'?
>>13993223
She thinks of you as a little brother
>>13993223
It means you're an immature faggot with no skill, tacky taste, and a generally shitty attitude about everything.
>>13993237
/o/ is officially the boy racer board
Alright /o/ how lame are tow hooks?
I realize it's pretty rice but i can't help but kind of like how they look on civics.
I have a Civic Si and i'v been contemplating buying one for a while, should i do it?
>>13993069
Don't do it.
I think they look pretty good, as long as they aren't super expensive, I would buy one.
>>13993069
Are you planning on getting your car stuck somewhere?
If yes, get a tow hook.
If no and you get one anyway, you're literally on the same level as stancefags
Post cars that have unified continuous horizontal headlights in here.
(tail lights do not count)
Hi /o/, shadetree engineer here. Ask me about cars and I'll mspaint you a visual explanation.
Explain the difference between atkinson and otto cycle
>>13992815
I'm not sure my mspaint skills are up to the task. Basically, it just keeps the intake valve open into the compression stroke. Pressing against the air coming in through the intake valve keeps the air in the cylinder from pressing against the oncoming piston as hard, increasing efficiency.
What is a redline?

>>13992263

Why not just say the LS *is* a small block chevy? Because it is.
Hi. Yuropoor here. What does /o/ think about the LR Defender? Would it make a good DD (diesel engines are the only available in my country)? Also LR Defender thread.
>>13991423
>Would it make a good DD
Do you value comfort or quietin any sense whatsoever? If yes, then no it won't be.
Also they're not as great on fuel as you would think and the driving position is a bit awkward on the older ones
>>13991423
>Would it make a good DD
No.
Don't buy a Defender. Buy a Discovery 3 or 4.
>>13991423
I almost got one but what killed it for me was the fact that they are slow as balls.
Being able to do 0-60 in under 15 seconds and go above 60mph were things i was not willing to sacrifice for its looks which was 80% of why i wanted it considering i dont have much time or money to go off-roading.
If you can live with the lack of performance and don't mind getting your hands a bit dirty on the weekend then i dont see why you couldn't daily it, i know plenty of rural folks by me that do.
