I'm getting my first car soon, it doesn't come with abs. Is ABS really important? Would the average commute to work require ABS?
ABS is really only helpful in bad weather or super hard stops. So if you live in someplace with a temperate climate (i.e. Commiefornia), don't drive like an idiot and you'll be fine.
I've been DDing a car with no ABS for 8 months, including a snowy winter. It's been fine for me, but it does have 4wd and I'm not sure what kind of car you're looking at

Just buy a liter bike and thank me later. There's literally no point in chasing endless horsepower in cars, just because there's almost always SOMEONE faster than you. It just turns into a competition into who can piss away more money and time than time spent improving driving skills.

Asking questions such as "Has it been in a wreck before?" could easily be falsified. And I've never had to haggle before, so any tips for doing that?
