E30 318i convertible.
E30s are slow, but they're pretty light, and fun to drive. E30 convertibles are dreadful; they're painfully slow and have a bendy chassis. Enter the 318i convertible; it's a bit lighter than the 325 but makes around 40 less horsepower and is particularly garbage when equipped with an automatic. I had the displeasure of driving one of these recently.

A mechanic told me he could fix my car for $500 and gave me a guarantee and a warranty that it would work.
Of course, it didnt work and the issue came back five seconds into test driving the car.
Now hes saying my problem is a seperate issue and says he cant fix it. Hes also insisting on me paying him the full $500 and wont give me my car back.
What the fuck do I do? Do I call the police? Steal the car back?
Hmmm... If it were me I'd say "come on man you didn't fix the problem so I'm not going to pay you. Now give me my car back please."
Although I wouldn't put it so harshly or he might get mean about it, considering he's holding from you a problematic car and holding it from you over $500.

if you've driven one you'll realize its not pigfat at all and the convertible part is like a bonus feature you don't plan on using or enjoying but after awhile you appreciate good weather/fresh air in your face.
With that said there is no other car that pulls off hardtops as well as an s2000.
I saw an e36 for sale that was convert. with a hardtop and it was heinous.
Honestly just drive one.

Definately. They last forever and provide infinite fun. You'll have to upgrade some things if you're going to be hard on it, but that's to be said with every car.
Depends on how much you're paying. Really all you want is a strong motor and ok (per f body standards) interior. You buy those things for the motor essentially. Just recently got out of mine. Full bolt ons, stalled auto ls1. Fun car for sure but lacks in certain areas.

I had an FD for a year last year, previous owner did a dodgy home engine rebuild and the auction guy I bought it off didn't know his shit (and at that time nor did I) but it was still fun.
I could buy it right this time and I have a better idea of what I'm doing.

Meh I got 19-20mpg in my street ported RX7 when hypermilling it, and gas is cheap and only looks to go cheaper.
And spare parts are cheap compared to other cars of its performance.
Nothing gives the feeling of driving one except like a Viper I guess; car's fucking mad.
Depends if you like doing the maintenance yourself.
