I'm in the market for a new head unit for my classic car, after about an hour of looking at different brands like Clarion,Sony,Alpine,Pioneer and so on I am very disappointed to see all the head units they have to offer and covered in chromeish plastic and have LED's everywhere... These things look like they had been designed in the early 2000's by space mutants..
Anyone have a basic clean minimalist head unit they can suggest for me? Price is not a concern. Single size no and fancy screens preferably black or dark grey.

Chinese are all about either practicality or for the more wealthy its a bit of a thing having something expensive. You can pretty much guarantee that something like a Bentley or high end Merc would always be more highly regarded than anything the same they made locally. Even if the local product was a better car, same price or lower and all it'd still be considered lower on the social hierarchy.

The Chinese are kind of in the spot 1950s Japan was in as far as car industry goes. Most of their cars are built solely for practicality, and there's some small peeks that a few brands are experimenting with the cars, making some that are slightly fun to drive.

Don't know much about diesels either but most problems are injector related. And they're expensive. Also how did you manually prime it? This should go without saying but don't feed diesels a bunch of starter fluid

I personally did not like it.
Depending on the price it is an okay car. It's not as sporty as the Civic Si. but for a 2 door, it is fairly practical, and has decent legroom for rear passengers, though headroom is somewhat limited due to the roofline. One important thing to look for is to see if it has had the oil consumption test preformed by a Toyota dealer, since it falls under the years covered by the warranty enhancement issued for the 2AZ-FE engines.
