a cheap RWD car good for another 250k miles of the odo is right.
also, had the 1992 Escort with the 16v 1.8.
it was alright but it consisted more of rust than metal, so first thing I'd do on a mint ford was to look for rust, eliminate it and care about rust prevention.
also, the 1.8 16v didn't fucking like low rev driving. that little shit constantly acted like a bonanza horse when you dared to cruise in lower speeds in 5th. never had that with other cars, so if it's a 1.8 16v ford of that era, I guess it will like to get fucking rev'd like a mad cunt.

Take it to autozone and have your battery tested.
You'd be surprised how many times shit like that is a bad battery.
The second part of your quesiton is worded in a very odd manner, however; if I had to try and decypher.
Yes, it's possible for your car to turn 'on'(Accessory) and not 'start' (ignition). If it sometimes does this, but otherwise runs fine, then probably points to the starter motor. First, however; I'd just check your battery. Get a multi-meter, stick it to your battery, if it's reading lower than 11.9v-12.4v then your battery could very well be the issue.
So, check battery then starter.

OP here, tested the battery before, i was still at 70 something percent still, thats why im not sure
cant currently go anywhere, trapped at friends house because it wouldnt start, might have to get it towed if anything
