Yes, but the thermobob is a radiator bypass some autist thought up for the KLR, turns out most bikes lack it.
It's not a big deal if you flog your bike all the time in a hot environment, but at lower temperatures when you commute it gets important, Especially with two radiators that can cool water much more

>>
>>14198109
>the KLR comes with a thermostat factory
yes
>The thermostat does the job of a thermobob.
The thermobob is a modification of the cooling system.
The mod proper is just the bypass hose, but you put in a different thermostat without a bleed hole (because it's not needed anymore leading to faster warmup) and different temperature rating (since the flow is different and there's a much better control on the coolant temperature)

At least is what I was referring to with thermobob

There are two dealers in about 1 hour drive away from me, guess it's time to sit on some bikes.

>>14198249
the XT 660 also has two mufflers. Maybe it helps for the A2 because it has a kW/KG limit, thus more (removable) weight will make the power which you will get written down in your papers higher.
>>
>>14198194

HEY SEM GUYS
HEY
what
what if we write SWM that we would love to take theri bike for longer test, then everyone of us gets thier favourite SWM model sponsored and rides to the SEM with it?
like for example one gets a Superdual and rides from thier home to the SEM location and then after SEM we all ride to norway, everything sponsored by SWM for "testing" thier bikes, and then we sell it as a report later and get mad dosh for it?
>or a sponsorship

did you mean shitbox? seriously those you mentioned seem very cool if you're poor but as soon as you have some money going they're just another shitbox (or lets say shitbox 2.0 one step ahead of things like the twingo, clio,..). source, drove an audi 80, friend of mine a w123 when we were students.

keep your current car, I think that's the fastest way to save up for a really decent bike/car.

cars that are older than 30 years are considered "old timers" here in germany. you pay less insurance and less tax for it. and those were just the ones i found while researching.

Aight man. Just saying they make a very decent first car but if you already have one (bora?) or are not enthusiastic about the car itself for what it is don't bother and save up like 5k for something really nice if you're just looking for an upgrade.

I've owned one for 6 months, it is a great commuter but it tops out at 80mph. Not even joking, it is damn near out of breath at 75.
It is a great bike for my non highway commuting though, FI makes warming up more of an issue to get the oil warmed up.
The bolts on the body work like to get loose and dealing with the plastic & tank to check is a bit of a pain because of the FI and the way some of the tubes are routed.
Solid bike, people ask what it is at gas stations, Chinese immigrants are surprised to see it because it is made & sold over there.
That is right, it is made in China and sold there and here in the US.
However, my bitch is that it is pretty heavy and the stock mirrors are pretty useless to see what is behind you.

A Ninja 250 and CBR250 are not sports bikes. They are well disguised standards with aerodynamic fairings. I will say that I bought the GW250 over used CBR250s and Ninjas because I wanted a FI bike that had a SOHC, little vibration and naked styling, it was also 1kUSD cheaper then a new CBR.
However, if FI and fairing weren't an issue, wanted a commuter bike I could take over a mountain highway, I would have gotten a CBR or GS500.
>>
>>14200497
>wanted SOHC over DOHC

For what purpose?
>>
Hoping somebody could point me in the right direction.

I have a 2008 wr250x.

I recently filled the air in my tyres back up because they had leaked about 8 psi from sitting. Since then, I've found that when riding there is a small, but noticeable, bump coming from one or both of my tyres. I feel as if it's the front tyre but it's hard to discern.

It's consistent in nature, which lead me to think it was something in the tyre. I've thoroughly checked front and back to no avail.

I am running my tyres on 28psi front and back, so to test I deflated my tyres back to 20psi. The bump remained, so I reinflated them.

It doesn't go away after riding for x amount of time and I can't notice it during corners.

Any ideas? I feel like the tyres might be fucked which would not be too bad because they're getting replaced when I can afford it.
>>
>>14200600
sounds like something is failing in the tire.
try over inflating both to max rated pressure and spin the tires and see if you can see a deformation in it as it spins
>>
>>14200639
I don't have a wheelstand anymore so I can't free spin the tyre. Would that work just rolling it forward and back?
>>
>>14200600
Might just be out of balance. Also check around the bead to see if it looks like the tire is seated evenly all around the rim on both sides of both tires.
>>
>>14200648
put it on blocks or a bucket or just lay it over or tip it up on the kickstand. its not a big bike.
you want to spin it with the bike static so you can see irregularities a lot easier
>>
>>14200648
Put your bike on a bucket and spin the wheels.
>>
>>14200600
28 sounds awfully low. I know its a light bike but still...

They may have flatspoted from sitting, which is usually more common in cheap tires. What brand do you run?

His reasons when I asked him

1. Road speeds are for the most part 45 MPH from our house to his workplace. The highest is 55 MPH and it's only for a few miles.

2. Huge tuning community of autistic faggots who drop thousands into an already overpriced bike that's basically just a manual transmission scooter dressed up like a streetfighter.

3. He's a manlet and likes small bikes.

4. He has never owned a motorcycle and wants to start with something small.

>>14200678
Most of the stuff I've read recommends pressures in the 26-32 range for the bike. I've played around with pressures and found 28f 28r to be comfortable for the type of riding I do. I also don't really care about getting more mileage out of the tyres.

It has shinko's on it. SR740 front 741 rear. They're not fantastic tyres, I know, but they had enough tread when I bought to the bike to keep it going until I make some room in my budget for nicer ones.

What the fuck did you just fucking say about me, you little bitch? I’ll have you know I graduated top of my MSF course, and I’ve been involved in numerous group rides, and I have over 300 confirmed miles. I am trained in basic motorcycle maneuvers and I’m the top gamer in the entire /ovg/ thread. You are nothing to me but just another target. I will wipe you the fuck out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my fucking words. You think you can get away with saying that shit to me over the Internet? Think again, fucker. As we speak I am contacting my /ovg/ gamer friends and we will beat you in any video game track right now so you better prepare for the storm, maggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your life. You’re fucking dead, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can beat you in over seven hundred ways, and that’s just with my controller. Not only am I extensively trained in how to lean a bike, but I have access to the entire video game archive and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable ass off the face of /o/, you little shit. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little “clever” comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your fucking tongue. But you couldn’t, you didn’t, and now you’re paying the price, you goddamn idiot. I will shit fury all over you and you will drown in it. You’re fucking dead, kiddo.

Dude was riding way to fast for those conditions. Idiots always cross the double yellows on the 405. Especially in that area.

>I don't understand how having SOHC is going to provide and sort of benefit over DOHC in that situation.
It is a commuter bike that gets +1000 miles put on it a month, because it is a SOHC with 2 valves per cylinder, whenever I get in there I only have to do 4 valves instead of 8 or more.
SOHC aren't going to make a engine more torquey, but the bike is geared for lowend, and the SOHC helps and makes engine braking more effective.

Two times I might add, either side. Right hand side fairing is scratched up to fuck and missing a heap of paint. No front indicators either.

Oh well, I bought it cheap $3k and expected to drop the thing, so meh. Might just rattlecan it black.
