Sticky was made by some dude who donated the time into making it with input from other people. I don't see why it would be necessary since the current one is only a couple of years old. Maybe next or the year after would be a good time for an update.
I don't see much harm in starting a new one now, though. However it does requre somebody to step up and do it.

They are functional, so functional in fact that I think they were banned from racing.
I can't remember the name though, but they feature on a lot of old racing cars, see pic for example.
"Turbo fan wheel" brings up a few results but that's likely not the correct name.

99.9999% if powersteering problems is it failing. Meaning you have to invest a little more manual force, is all.
i have yet to be convinced electric power steering is anything other than a way to get 1-2mpg more out of the car and satisfies the bean counters

My commutes are usually 8-15 miles miles. I live next to a city and drive highway and both regular streets often. LA is a huge car driving area.
