Okay /o/, tomorrow I'm going to buy a 2002 Mustang GT with 112,000 miles on it for $1500.
Any advice? Things I should look for, things I should know, easy power mods, etc.?
I've always wanted something with a v8, but I've only ever driven Hondas, so I don't know a whole lot about common issues with them.
Picture of the actual car. I'm really hoping the black shit on the hood is just vinyl. I guess it doesn't look that bad though.
>>15187340
Fuck.
>>15187347
Hood pins = fast
Hurry and buy that OP, before someone else sees how fast it is.
How do you go from this
To this?
To this?
>>15187203
To this?
Do you autists consider putting a Honda wing on an EX coupe or sedan a "rice crime"?
aero on a street car like that is almost purely cosmetic so yeah rice.
isn't adding downforce to the back without adding downforce to the front just a recipe for disaster?
>>15187182
>>15187221
I don't think the stock wings are made to work as an aero though. I'm talking about those, not the kind of stuff as pic related
Everything I have ever done on my 03 silverado has been complete shit and a fucking pain.
>be me today trying to change tranny fluid and filter
>find out you need to take off exhaust to take off pan
> can't get pan off so I try putting it back on but even bolt is now not wanted to go in
>rachet now covered in at slips and breaks shift linkage
Fuuuuucckkkk
>my daily is now fucked because GM wanted to save space.
I've never worked on my Chevy, couldn't tell you how easy or hard it would be.
I know changing COPs and plugs on my Ford is a pain in the fucking ass and requires the fuel rail pulled and a hole cut in the cab though.
Try not breaking things and "fixing" stuff I guess?
>>15187027
Sounds like you're a poorfag without the right tools or a pleb that lives in the rustbelt.
>>15187027
You're literally retarded.
Got this today lads

ford ranger or chevy s10?
after doing some research in hopes of finding a good little truck i have set my mind on these two. can a ranger/s10 owner give their two cents to which truck i should purchase?
>>15186406
which years?
The first gen S10 was a utter piece of shit, and the 4cyl ranger won't get you any better mileage than an F150 with a 5.0
>>15186406
S10 lasts a little longer, not by much.
Ranger looks better.
S10 has more aftermarket support.
Ranger clutch feels better.
S10 is wayyy more available.
Ranger has better suspension in terms of ride.
5cyl Colorado
I purchased an LS400 sight-unseen in a state 1,500 miles away. I am flying out to it and driving it back. I *think* the car is in great condition and its timing belt job has just been done. What kinds of things should I buy when I get there to take with me on the journey in case of emergency or maintenance issues? Also I have never driven this long distance before and I need to do it within two days to get back to work on time. How do I avoid fatigue, or the effects of fatigue?
>inb4 OP you stupid faggot
Yes I know.
Having done a bunch of shitbox long distance adventures honestly just go over the basics.
Check all the fluids, belts, hoses, check the tire pressures, make sure the spare has air, make sure the tires aren't dry rotted, take it around the block a few times and make sure everything feels good.
Since your flying out don't bother with tools. Pretty much anything you can fix on the side of the road you can buy the tool for at any parts store.
As for fatigue, don't drive if your dead nuts tired, it's risky as fuck. Take a 15 min break at...

ls400s are reliable and all but waste of money and time to fly out and drive back...
just buy a crown victoria or something, op
DAE cringe at people who cringe at ricers? Like, they act as if liking cars for their performance instead of liking cars for their aesthetics makes them superior.
"Haha wow, look at this 12 year old and his riced up car!111 Did you get that out of a cereal box xDDDDDDDD???"

My friend just bought an 89 corolla 24k miles for $3000. What should he know besides the fact that he payed too much.
Wait, it only had 24k miles?
Mt friend bought a tercel. He is an enthusiast who wanted an enthusiast car. He got this in favor of a Honda prelude, ek civic, miata, and del sol. How can I let him down gently
>>15186090
Ya i don't even know the story on it but it just makes me think it's been sitting for at least 20 of its years.
Do any of you autofags use manual shift mode?
I recently bought my first automatic car because I needed a new car and a family member sold it to me for a good price. I drove a Celica GT-S 6 speed beforehand. Now I can't help but put the shifter into manual mode everytime I drive. It doesn't feel right if I don't work the gears myself.
Kind of nice not having to use the clutch tho.
>>15185994
I do when I need to, came from a similar background to you as well except that I had a 00 Civic Si
>>15185994
I occasionally bump my Civic's auto around, but I've never owned a car with a tiptronic/etc mode.
Paddles on regular autos drive me nuts though, it just doesn't feel right.
>>15185994
Only when I'm going downhill and don't feel like braking. Otherwise, just use D.
Hey everyone. I just finished building a Bolf out of a VW Golf using parts from a VW Bora. It's been a dream of mine I've wanted to do for years! Anyone else have any car projects to share? Pic related, it's my car!
>>15185983
I'll play. Mk4 Golf GLS 1.8T.
Stage 2 ecu flashed by Gonzo tuning.
Stage 1 clutch disc, 14lb lightweight flywheel. Main maintenance has been done (timing belt, etc). I started this project 3 months ago.

In the market for a used car (<$4-5K) saw this on craigslist. It seems way too cheap. Am I just overlooking something?
thats way too cheap. probably fucked somehow. 4cyl hondas are reliable but other stuff can be hit and miss.
>>15185627
That ad is bullshit. Also, you will never see a legit
car below "Good" KBB value on CL.

Too much miles for a 2009 and it's an auto v6. That's the only problems 8/10 deal though
