I accidentally did this in 5th for about 1k rpm
>Why am I at full boost and not going anywhere?
>OH SHIT NIGGER WHAT AM I DOING
Thankfully, I only went from 2.5k to around 3.3k. Some people datalogged a full 6th gear pull and asked why their car was pulling 6 degrees of timing and their egts were at nearly 1900.

wait whats wrong with doing this
Do most of you guys in California have a hard time with getting your car to pass smog? I'm mostly talking about 95 or older cars. Both of the cars that I've owned have been a bitch every year to pass smog and after doing some research it's a pain in the ass for everyone.
>>14100967
Get the tank until it's about to stall out right next to the smog shop, then drop 1-2L of E85 in the tank.
Pass the smog, put a 20L of normal petrol back in it, go about your business.
>mfw i live in a county where CA smog test is only required on title transfer
*Use laquer thinner, a gallon to about half a tank of gas, then blow down the highway for an hour. cleans your cat and your fuel will have fewer emissions
*best time to do a test is on a rainy day in the mornings, less visible smoke, colder so exhaust vapor doesn't visibly condense and people are generally nicer in the morning, even the smog guy.

you can do this with those cheap bottles...

In Mexico, you just register in a no test state or in one with lower requirements, is this not an option in the US?
I need some help br/o/s.
I have a shop telling me that the labor on replacing the clutch on an AWD car is 13 hours.
Is this correct or am I getting scammed.
They're trying to rip you off.
>>14100934
Then how many hours should it take? Personally, I was only thinking 3-5hrs.
They're right in the sense that 13 hours is what the 30 year old book says, said book being from a time before mechanics had half the power tools and gadgets they have now. They'll get it done in half the time and still charge you the remaining hours if they're dodgy cunts. Ask around at different places and you'll be surprised how much the hours vary.

Just get a E39 530 instead of any of that shit. The 1 and 3 will look a little small if you're a guy (and not a manlet). Snag a E39 M5 if you want something a little cooler.
Considered an ST205 Celica? You could get a really nice example for much less than 25k, and it fits all your requirements. I'm assuming you're Canadian so you'd have to import a JDM one. What province? Insurance for JDM cars in BC is pretty fine and maintenance wouldn't be too bad, there's lots of shops that work on these cars and can get parts easily.

Alberta, though I'll be part of the Air Force by next year and I won't know which base I'm posted to.
Not big on the looks of the ST205, at least at the front.

Any examples that aren't BMW's? Don't have a problem with any of them, it's just that they're pretty clear options that always get suggested.
going to pick up my first car, it's from a private party and I'll be paying cash. What should I do about plates, title, and registering it? In PA.
>inb4 google it
pic unrelated
Google it. First make a bill of sale for both of you to sign, can either make one yourself or some states provide an official one (state of Washington does this) the seller fills out all the information on the title like the milage and how much he sold it for. Now on this, sellers and buyers usually agree to write a lower sale price on all the papers so you pay less sales tax. That's up to you to ask. Then there might be a portion of the title the seller takes off and keeps for himself, he turns that in so he's not responsible for the car any more, you take the title...

Have you ever been at fault for a collision or accident, /o/? How does it feel knowing:
>you will NEVER be able to call yourself a good driver
>you will NEVER be able to afford insurance for a cool sports car
>you don't even deserve to be on the road and should probably just take the bus
Yeah, premiums return to normal. Shit happens and I wreck my hoonmobile at least once a year.
Don't need to be God to have fun
The only crash I've ever caused was in my own driveway in my first year on a scooter. I duct taped some trim plastics back together and ordered a new brake lever off the internet, and that was the end of that. Feels good.

I never had a chance OP. What made you think I was meant for any better insurance than liability?
ITT: the most notable, weirdest, or ridiculous marked police cars you can find. The city of Pomona, CA seized this Chrysler 300 from a drug dealer, added the necessary equipment (and stenciled on the trunk: "No Taxpayer Money Used”) and actually take this sumbitch out on patrol. Let's see what you can find, /o/.
Note: Lots of car manufacturers make police promotional packages that never see real world use. Post these if it tickles your balls, but internets will only be awarded for police vehicles in service.
The stencil was prob the only thing tax dollars weren't spent on. Fuck the police and your thread .

This guy looks happy as shit.
Tractor thread? Seen them on here before.
Pic and video related has a single cylinder 5 liter diesel.

Pic related is a hanomag RL20, a tractor that was designed to be able to drive into town and then head back to the farm for more work.

Should've posted a front view because it really does almost look like a car. That's fantastic.
These ranged from 6 to 10 litres and could run on crude oil. 2 stroke as seen in the first vid.

It dulls the skills of the vehicle operator and they become dependant on it.
Does anyone on here drive for uber?
Yesterday uber approved me for uberX, and before I roll out I feel like I need more information form other who have done it. I'm from a small city in Canada and honestly I think I might be one of the first to do it locally.
My main questions are:
How much do you make in lets say, a 3 hour span on a weekend night?
What percent does Uber take from you?
Is it worth the time in general?
Has a traditional cabbies ever got hostel with you (this is what I'm most afraid of)
Any other general tips you have?
>>14099655
Waterloo?
>>14099677
No, east coast
What about tax as well?(income/hst)
>>14099655
No offense, but shouldn't you ask uber or already have the answers to some of this? Did uber give you a contract to read? It should outline compensation to you and them.
Read some articles from drivers. There are plenty online. Given how new of a car you need and all that, I can't see it being super profitable in the long run

no

Would watch it for sure. Wouldn't be the same show as before obviously but I think it could be its own thing quite successfully
How come most female drivers are bad at driving?
>>14099351
Because they don't heel-toe before the corner and they never hit the apex.
My wife is a bad driver in the way that dudebros are bad drivers. One time, a car cut us off rather close. I advised her to maintain distance and stay away from the guy. Being completely serious, she said "But how do I get back at him?"
>mum gets hit by something / hits something
>front wheel alignment gets fucked
>front bumper is cracked to shit
>hood is bent a little
that was 2 years ago, still drives the car to this day with the wheels out of alignment
What went wrong?
They stopped making every car decent build quality, so they got a shitty reputation
they let gaijin ruin the company
Their good cars have awful fan bases, and the rest of their cars are ugly and shitty.
The 2016 Camaro has one of the best interiors I've ever seen.

Probably because they aren't adjusted for that viewing position. Idiot.
I guess you haven't seen many interiors.
