Does car shopping stress you out? I'm seriously frustrated with it, and curious about the rest of you guys.
>>15178200
No. I love shopping for cars. I peruse Craigslist and autotrader daily. I don't have shit taste so cars I'd buy are rare so the choices aren't too difficult.
>>15178200
It just takes patience. Don't be afraid to walk away from a deal if it isn't what you're looking for. The car you want will turn up eventually.
It's frustrating when the seller takes flattering pics of the car, only to find out it's a piece of shit when you actually go see it in person
>pics at angles to hide dents/scratches
>detailed pics of everything, but say, one of the door panels only to find out said piece of completely fucked

When driving? When idling?
More info, please
Okay, so this isn't going to be reasonable, but assuming I win the lottery, then it might become a reality.
My grandfather had a 1966 Ford F-100 truck. The monster has its original 460 CIs (that's 7538.05 CCs, or ~7.54 liters) engine that he maintained and adjusted himself. He'd tune some things, adjust the belt (all by hand; he never really used tools), and then start the engine to hear the sound. If he didn't like the sound, he'd shut it off and adjust again. He then used some tool to calculate how well-timed it is and found it to be less than...

Unfortunately, he totaled it before I was even born. It's been sitting in the middle of a forest for the past two decades and it's now a pile of rust. The engine never sustained damage in the wreck, so it was turned upside down and left in the car's wreckage to protect it from the elements or some nonsense; I'm sure it's a pile of rust now, too.
Anyways, how much would it cost to repair it?
Please note that the car in the provided pic is not his; it's simply the same make and model.
Lastly, before any of you faggots pull some "that's an unreliable car you don't want to repair it" or "just buy him a civic" or some shit, fuck you.
I don't care how the car performs. I don't care if it turns out that he lied about everything of which it's capable.
He loves that car and it would bring tears to his eyes to be able to drive that specific vehicle again. That's all about which I care.

Also, tuning old cars by ear is pretty easy once you have the knowledge

maybe, assuming the speedo is correct
Have you guys ever been in an accident? If so, share your story.
Just today, I majorly fucked up. I put my 944 through my neighbor's fence. I was trying to get it started after it sat for awhile, and didn't realize I left it in gear. The car is my project and doesn't have working brakes. I ended up reving it and it rolled down the small slope from my driveway.
-Pic related, my 944
Holy fuck you should be atripfag now
>>15177931
>doesn't have brakes
Good god.
>>15177931
Bummer.
I once had my park brake fail on a small hill.
Luckily I was close enough to hop in and stop it.
Bout pooped my pants though.

So my white trash neighbor hit my car with two different vehicles over a period of 2 months while my car was parked in the assigned parking lot. They slammed their car door into my rear passenger quarter panel 8 times amongst the two cars.

Welcome to automobile ownership
As an asian guy I feel like it's unfair when the "asians can't drive" stereotype gets applied to me. It's all asian WOMEN who are the shitty drivers and yet they give us asian men a bad name. It's bullshit.
are you cute?
post pix
i got a thing for azn guys
Everyone is a shitty driver except me.
Don't fret anon.
Dagumi was an asian guy
Keiichi Tsuchiya aka "Le Drift Man" is an asian guy
Fuck their stereotypes.
I drive a 2004 Dodge stratus (pos im aware) and I recently got a check engine light. I bring it in to dodge courtesy, and apparently its the ignition coil. Theyre telling me its gonna cost me $635 bucks for the part/labor, does that sound right? I looked up how to change the part myself and the guy literally did it in about 10 minutes. They also mentioned changing the spark plugs for me just in case since thats something commonly changed with the coil. Should I just buy the part and change it myself or is it worth 635?? Pic some shit I grabbed of google images.
>>15177550
If you can ever do the work yourself, why would you even consider paying someone else to do it?
change the plugs first, then see what happens
>>15177727
I know as a damn fact its not the plugs, they were changed within the year.
Hey guys, not usually a visitor here, but I stumbled upon this car a while back and heard many great things about it. I looked it up on some used car places but I can't seem to find one anywhere.
I doubt you guys could help me, but do you happen to know where I can get my hands on one of these?
>>15177496
They never sold them here.
Now fuck off weeaboo.
>>15177496
It's a Honda Civic modified with Miata NA pop ups, enjoy.
>>15177496
An old Corolla? Anywhere on Craigslist. If you cant find one they might not be common in your area, just try an alternative shitbox
>be American
>think driving manual means you're somehow better than everyone else
>leave YouTube comments crying about people's auto trans
The young automotive community is cancer. It's always young kids in HS or college who bitch about choice of a transmission because they think driving a manual makes you manly or cool. It's just embarrassing, women in Europe drive stick and don't give a shit.
Americans are fat and stupid, you gotta remember
Visiting there from Holland I was surprised how many of them were telling me I looked too skinny and needed to gain weight.

t. butthurt automatic driver
And what demographic is it that gets upset about what people say in youtube comments sections and go to complain about in on anime imageboards?
Which one is the better deal? I need it to last for at least 4 years.

Isn't that just a rebadged Suzuki Carry?
I knew a guy who had a bright orange one with an SR20 swap. You couldn't brake too hard or the back eheels would come off the ground.

It is, must be very practical
>doing your own work on your car
spending money to bust your knuckles, get a headache, mess things up because you did it wrong, make multiple trips to parts stores, get wrong parts, not have warrantied work, and generally having things be more difficult than they should be because you dont have the right tools.
