The new BMW 3 will be built in Mexico

1. the 3 series will not look like in your pic, it's just an artists impression
2. hondas have been produced in mexico for a while now and nobody is complaining about honda reliability

I just found out both of my honda's were made in mexico
Feels bad, I thought at least my civic was glorious nippon steel

Looking to scrap/junk/part out a vehicle (99 subaru legacy) that has been sitting idle for 2 years. Only problem was the keyway getting mangled from a loose pulley, just never got the time to fix it. Not looking to make $$, just get rid of it because I have to move soon, but would I have better chances with craigslist or a local yard/junker?
If craigslist, how should I list, and what price is typical (% of kbb)?
If a yard, how can I find a good one, and what paperwork do I have to do?
>>15306664
>Only problem was the keyway getting mangled
So, the keyhole for the ignition is fucked?
'Loose pulley' my ass, you stole it.
>>15306847
no, crankshaft keyway. Woodruff key sheared off from wobbling crank pulley, probably because the bolts weren't torqued to spec.
One mechanic I took it to a while back said I would potentially need a new crankshaft/engine, but most forums I've seen have suggested fixes with loctite that just take some time, tools, and labor.
>>15306847
completely different, this is on the crank pulley
if you put it on Craigslist as a scrap car all someones going to do is give you $150ish for it, cut out the cat converter, then sell it to a junkyard. put it as a project car for $500 for 2-3 days saying it needs the keyway repaired, if you get no hits just sell it for the $150 scrap
Tell us everything. Cars you have owned, driven, built, raced, stunted, crashed, fuckups, fails and cool shit you have done or seen.
One time I was doing handbrake slides in an empty parking lot in my parents car. The very last one I planned to do I misjudged and slid the back wheel hard into a curb. The rear axle was misaligned and the wheel was completely bent. I told them I hydroplaned and we had it repaired. Needless to say I never did that shit again

Why do they keep putting 8 and 9 speed transmissions into cars?
That sounds really awful to drive, Why would you need more than 6?
8 + overdrive is the best combination for efficiency and also for performance
a best usage of engines power
>>15306605
Fuel economy regulations and a desperate attempt to try anything and everything to meet them.
The gubmint these days dictates more about a car's features than the free market does. Is glorious to live in Soviet Murica.

Some variant of a 1940/50s Autocar
Germans(European mostly) simply just make the best cars in the world. I agree to this statement. I adore the quality in them. They make like no one else does.
But why do they constantly break? Why do they always top the unreliability charts?
>>15306432
planned obsolescence
over-engineering

This pretty much.
HAHAHAHA
I don't want to make this a long story, but I got a 5 over ticket with a suspended license that I got because of a erroneous FTA on another ticket before hand.
During the hearing I pleaded guilty because the revoked license part was not mentioned and I forgot about it because I long since had my license renewed.
So now I receive a paper in the mail telling me that my license is going to be fucking suspended AGAIN for an entire fucking year because of the ticket?
Holy fucking shit what do I do /o/? I'm JUST about to get this life saving job that...

People are saying bother Ferrari and Ford "sandbagged" their laps.
what do they mean by this?
>>15305894
Daily reminder.
ford>ferrari>gm
>>15305894
it means they held back their true performance. They were running high lap times so they lose ballast. And when raceday comes they are faster due to less weight.
Porsche and Vette couldnt compete with them, thus the "bad" result.
>>15305910
how much weight did they lose?
im looking into buying my first car. whats something thats semi-reliable, can be tuned a little bit, semi-fast, and can be used as a daily? ive got a budget around 8-9k. manual is preferred. thanks in advance

>>15305794

>>15305783
definitely don't buy a corvette
Can't find a lexus sc300 in my area that's not a parts car or brutally overpriced.
What car best compares to the sc300/sc400?
Decent MPG
Good power
nice interior and ride
Is300
Tsx TL
G35
Avalon
>>15305468
Camry
>>15305468

Don't get the sc300, civic tier slow.
I sent out a lot of sales position resumes to everywhere.
I got a response from Mercedes Benz dealership.
It says that it's an asset to have their product (Mercedes Benz) knowledge.
I know nothing about cars nor do I much about Benz.
Pour me as much as car and Benz information as possible.
>>15305453
It's German.
It's shit.
Mercedes and Benz use to be their own company but now they are one and basically like invented everything and if you drive one girls will basically give you sex 100% of the time.
Lads, post your Lexus and what you're up to senpai
Swapping out radio
Replacing a day time running lights
Replace stock exhaust

About to drop $400 on a set of Kumo Ecsta V720 -- 205/50/15 on 15x7's
Anybody have experience with these tires?
Also considering Bridgestone Potenza RE-71R, but a set of Kumo's would be $80 cheaper
pic related; need new tires
What tires do you run on the touge /o/?
Why not wider? I've got 215s on my 16x6.5. You could probably do 225.
>>15305191
>225 on 6.5
Ugh, you're just stupid. Do you really want your tire to slip on the wheel?
>>15305073
I want to stay narrow cause I plan on using these tires year round and will have to deal with snow.
Alright /o/
I bought a '95 Chevy Astro Conversion van yesterday. This thing is fucking luxury, built in SNES, TV, leather seats, wood paneling, limo lights, all the works.
It also has power seats and a power sofa in the back. Tried it all out before buying it and all the seats work. I had it less than 6 hours and the front power seats and back sofa no longer work. I checked the fuses and it doesn't seem to be a fuse issue.
Does anyone have any experience with shit like this? I've been trying em for another 24 hours now thinking they might just...

Did you actually check the fuse continuity or did you just eyeball them? Breaks can be surprisingly hard to see.
Yep checked literally every fuse in the van with a meter. The manual lists the seats and door locks on the same 30 amp fuse so I tested it and tested the locks while it was pulled to make sure I had the right one and it was.
>>15305024
welp, time to start pulling body panels and checking switches, anon. electric bugs are a pain in the ass to find, but they aren't rocket science.
