Sweet. But did you?
hey guys, noob here.
I've been looking up how to flush my anti-freeze and I'm wondering if you guys could tell me if what I've read is correct. I find that for some reason, info on anti-freeze online is hard to find, vague, and contradictory depending on who you ask.
I have a 2007 Toyota Tacoma 4 cylinder 2.7 L manual.
I read you can use any color antifreeze on toyota except green (so long as you don't mix and match). Is there any advantage to the different types? Should I just go to dealer and get coolant or do they charge exorbitant...

One more question:
I live in Florida, so freezing is not an issue. Is there an optimal water/coolant ratio for hot climate or is 50/50 the best for every situation?
>>14031381
>not reading the fucking manual.
>>14031395
But I have, sir. I don't think the manual even mentions how to do a coolant flush.
As for type of coolant, the manual is very vague. It just says use ethylene glycerol with low silicate, etc. etc.
I try to look this stuff up online but I only seem to find contradictory information.
How does /o/ feel about street legal quad bikes?

this is an experience that should rattle you and make you be more careful, not want to attempt again and 'redeem yourself'
especially since you did this stuff with other cars on the road around you. feel free to fuck up your life but leave everyone else out of it

I sometimes flash my hazard lights when somebody lets me over, moves out of the passing lane proactively, or something else kind.
Would you interpret my brief flashing of my hazard lights as a thank you?
Btw I only do this when waving is really impractical. I know that if I shown appreciation for a random driver being kind, they will also appreciate it more and be happier.
>>14026100
>Would you interpret my brief flashing of my hazard lights as a thank you?
Nope.
>>14026104
What would you think I was doing? Mistake? I only do it when I'm in front of the person so they can notice.

I'd think that an inexperienced woman driver is panicking for no good reason and I would scratch my head and think "Did I just do something wrong? I don't think so wtf"

mine's the VDC, got the fanciest AWD setup in NA.
I can't believe i scored it with everything working. No electrical problems, no damaged leather, almost new tires.

did you make it happen? or was it already broke and you just proved it?
/o/ I have $55k to spend on my next truck, and ive narrowed it down to these two cousins. I'm leaning towards the 4runner because I actually prefer its looks and the fact that it doesnt carry any pretenses (I could care less about the Lexus "status symbol"), but I absolutely love the Land Cruiser Prado and the Lexus is the only variant I can get here stateside. I'm also weary of the 20" rims on the 4runner capability wise, although I love the look. Truck is going to be used 90% in the city and 10% on the back-roads offroading and adventuring. Which do I choose?
>>14038198
You realize the 4Runner is also a Prado, right? Buy a Trail Premium or get a GX460 and put 18s on it.

Nobody in the history of humanity that has properly cared for their car has put those fake, stick-on portholes on it.
your prediction/hope
Tesla will be the DeLorean of our times.
By that I don't mean it's bad, but just as the cocaine engineering of the DMC12 summed up the Reagan-era, Tesla will be a symbol of Obama's America.
Whenever any one wants to make fun of the 2010's they will show a Tesla
They need serious work to fix issues they've been having with the drive-train durability which shouldn't even be happening given its design.
There's also plenty of other niggles showing up from the car having everything be powered by some kind of electronics that wants to fail, like the door handles not presenting themselves, which are starting to surface which also are hurting the car's perception.
>>14037048
It's contingent on branding. Tech wise they WILL get overtaken by the bigger firms, especially considering their open source policy. However, if they've built up enough of a following by the time that happens, chances are they'll stick around. They're already well on the way - I reckon at this point the brand has enough clout that if things went tits up for them, there's a fair chance some other firm would buy it and use the Tesla name to sell their own upmarket electric stuff.
Has anything resulted in more hideous vehicles than carmakers trying to appeal to the Chinese market? The wealthy Chinese market seems to be entirely comprised of buyers with no taste.

>The wealthy Chinese market seems to be entirely comprised of buyers with no taste.
That's exactly what it is.
>That time Ferrari put a goddamn DRAGON on the hood
>That time Hummer accidentally appealed to gypsies
Actual quote from the National Geographic Article: "Zaharia Bureata greets Easter morning in a tie spun from solid gold thread, its front spelling out his name and the brand of his car, a Hummer. Others in town have copied his style. “People think all Roma are poor and filthy,” declared one mansion dweller. “They should see us.”"

Cuz there's a difference
So I'm looking at buying a '79 Bonneville with 150k miles on it for $850. The body and frame seem to be in decent shape, but given the era of car I'm thinking the engine, transmission or both are going to need to be replaced in the not-so-distant future.
Any estimates on how much cheddar it would ring to replace either the engine or trans in something this old if either one went bad?
>>14036895
You can pick up a new chev crate motor for a few grand.
Any swap you end up doing is going to cost more than what you paid for the car.
>>14036934
I figured as much. Think this is a worthwhile investment for me as far as values are concerned?
I suppose I must also specify that it's a Bonneville Landau.
