Depends on the condition of the vehicle and the general level of value for that vehicle of that age. If it was in good shape and reasonably priced to begin with you never had a base for negotiations in the first place.

But yea, driving an M car you should be able to afford to fix it or do your own wrenching.
E46 M3s are also pretty old at this point and hard to find with low miles and a manual, you may consider a Z4M or a newer e92 M3 if possible.

That said you are buying a true sports car and have to expect the costs that come with it. For instance things Ive run into that were pricey are an alternator is $600 (thankfully wasn't bad), brake rotors are $160 each, oil is $11/L for 10w60 shell. Any other repairs have been normal prices. You gotta pay to play but it wont bankrupt you if you are smart. The aftermarket for these cars is simply superb with every suspension component you ever dream of being made. If track days are your thing there is no better...

Truckbed toolboxes are great if you like getting your expensive shit stolen by niggers with a crowbar. Ive even seen times where the entire tool box was pulled out and stolen.
99% of people have no reason to haul around tools in the back of their truck. Its good to have a socket set and basic tools stashed away in any vehicle at all times, but if you need more than that its probably work related and you should be driving a proper work truck/van around that gets locked up behind a fence or in a garage at night so shit doesnt get stolen.

I want to build a Chevrolet Small Block or GM Small Block, I think. I really just want to build an engine that revs high, is a V8, and can last lots of miles of hard loads. SBCs are everywhere, so this is just a starting point, not a final decision.

A professional engine builder posted up on the FE forum about a 289 he built for use in FIA Cobra (which means period-correct factory castings). The engine did 443hp at 7000 rpm and 390lb-ft of torque. He didn't say what the total build cost was but did mention that the solid lifters were made of tool steel and cost $600 a set. That's just one item of many that have to be better than common oem stuff to live at high rpm repeatedly.

What they're doing with the raptor in that video is not exclusively possible with the raptor. My biggest gripe with the raptor is that its too big to be used for proper off roading. Other than that im sure its a good picup.

Easiest way is a quick spray of WD40 before you leave, makes sure they won't heat up. If you're dedicated you can take your rotors and pads off and let them soak in WD40 overnight.
