Hey /biz/, so long story short I sort of fucked around after High School being a dumb kid, but I've decided I don't want to be mediocre and I have goals of getting into Investment banking on Wall St.
I'll be starting UVA in the fall, good school but I'm not sure it's good enough.
Anyway, once I'm there, what sort of things should I do to maximize my chances of achieving my goal? Do you think i should try an transfer to another school once I'm there?
Any tips from people that actually work on Wall Street would also be greatly appreciated
STOP FUCKING POSTING THIS THREAD DAILY FOR FUCKS SAKE

YOU FUCKED YOURSELF IN HIGHSCHOOL
YOU FUCKED YOURSELF BY GOING TO A DOGSHIT COLLEGE
YOU FUCKED YOURSELF BY BEING BORN INTO A MIDDLE CLASS FAMILY
NOW ACCEPT THAT YOUR LIFE WILL FOREVER BE FUCKING MEDIOCRE YOU UNDERAGED CUNT

Hey calm down.
The system needs losers like this.
We take the money of suckers like this and get rich.
This is how we win. People like this moron here lose.
Currently a Computer Engineering student, money/family problems have left me a year behind. I was originally going out of state on a full scholarship, but the aforementioned issues have made it no longer an option.
My in-state unis aren't known much for their engineering schools, but it's a more financially feasible option.
Unfortunately, I couldn't even transfer credits from my old uni until two days ago; should I just miss another semester and then transfer back in-state? I don't mind student loans (I still don't want them, but without...

depends on the states really but if I were you I'd go back. if we're talking connecticut back to massachusetts there's no big deal in heading back, but some other states have a more drastic difference in the quality of their programs. the financially more feasible option will give you more leeway in your future, and I can only speak for myself when I say the added pressure of more expensive tuition/loans would drive me nuts.
in the meantime, self-study, start writing people associated with the in-state university like some sort of engineering advisor and get their advice.

I made a Chrome extension that got 60k users. How do I monetize that sucker without spamming users with ads?
I've been thinking about making a paid version with extra features and trying to get users to sign up for that.
Any ideas?
what's the extension
it's for watching videos, 10k hours of video is watched with it every day.

Have you ever considered starting a religion purely for the purposes of tax evasion?
For example, you could live rent-free as a minister in a building held by your religion.
If the building were held by a corporation of yours, you'd be taxed on your residence there as a benefit-in-kind, but I'm pretty sure nuns aren't taxed for living in convents.
Aren't there large, sociopathic Korean churches that exist for exactly this reason?

That's a little grand for my liking.
I was thinking something closer to Chinese-style ancestor worship, shoehorned into a legal category designed for soapbox protestants.

Newfag here. Basic business education, M.B.A. A general understanding of trading, zero technical knowledge or know-how.
I'm giving myself two years to learn what I lack before getting into trading as a side gig (I work in an unrelated field).
What do I need to know to build my trading plan?
What areas of mathematics, statistics,etc.. must I understand?
Any resources (manuals, books) for building/ testing trading plans?

There's your first problem. Trading "when you've got the time" here and there won't work for shit. You'll end up missing market opportunities due to work or other commitments.
Once that happens, you'll be more likely to force bad trades, in order to reassert the notion that your trading is a good idea.
When those bad trades go against you, you will be more and more likely to declare the market rigged and give...

buy and hold. daytrading is bullshit and most daytraders if not watching the markets all day would be at a casino. create a balenced portfolio it will do wonders.
makets are not rational, so to approach it with a mathematical standpoint is not good. I suggest you play poker for a while to get an idea how this works, specifically the idea that a good trade doesn't necessarily mean profit and a bad trade doesn't necessarily means a loss.
also to go in with a plan is a good idea, most people don't...

Which of the two is there more money to make or generally more better if you only care about making money?, Graphic design >>>/gd/ or 3D >>>3DCG?
>>1032167
both are shit but graphic design is better.
im a 3d designer ,started doing 3d work in the airforce and freelanced after i got discharged .did some graphic design too but mostly 3d .
you shouldn't do any of those for the money because theres a shitton of things you could do for more money and less effort .only go into 3d\graphics if you breath shit and bleed graphic design\3d.

Get back in touch with your university, maybe find a part time internship while taking some grad classes, and try to get them to take you on full time.
That's what I did
So my country recently got into a recession and as a result I needed to get a job quick in order to ensure that when the masses realised how bad it was going to be now that taxes are charged on EVERYTHING i'd at least have a steady income. Now after leaving my last job due to my realization that i was being set up so that I would be unable to work anywhere other than that place (more info will be provided if you want), I have been unsuccessful at getting a job... Until now. (I hope you can understand sarcasm in text) I am glad(*) to finally anounce that I have finally got...

Hey /biz/raelis, I have a question about internships.
Why do I have to go through a bunch of job/internship-searching sites, and links on my college website, and apply for the same ones that my peers are doing; why can't I just find a company or go on linkedin (or even craigslist desu) and find something and directly email them asking if I can intern there?
I'm a freshman btw, looking for summer internships.
>>1031979
>why can't I just find a company or go on linkedin (or even craigslist desu) and find something and directly email them asking if I can intern there?
You absolutely can bud
there is nothing stopping you from doing this
your college website probably has a better chance of getting you an internship though
Do college students actually have LinkedIn profiles? I was thinking of starting one, but realized that I have nothing to put on it and I won't have any connections.
This works well for small companies. Just make sure they are looking for full time employees too, so you are able to transition if it goes well.
