Hey /biz/
Long story short , I failed. I went from a ~730 credit score to 620 and falling. I have been ass blasted by an insane debt payment to income ratio for a few months of being unemployed, and the job I found is not even covering a third of what I owe in total each month. I come from a poor family so there's no options there. By this month's end I will be unable to pay my bills.
What can I do to make this easier on myself? I'm looking for a second job but seeing as how I'm only just finishing up an associate degree (paid for, part of why...

Bankruptcy. It happens to everyone. Go talk to a bankruptcy lawyer and explain your case, they have heard it all a million times. You are going to be fine if you do this. They understand what happens and deal with it on a daily basis.

Thanks for the reply. Im 24, how badly will bankruptcy on my record affect getting a job in a few years when I graduate? That's the biggest stressor

Get either a better job or a second job.
Trust me, living out of home will improve your self esteem a lot.
How long have you been working and what's the job?
I need a personal loan of 35,000 within the next 7 days. Credit score 690. Make 45k/year.
What is my best option for securing this money without origination fees and without pre/early repayment fees.
Cheers.

FYI it's to purchase an investment property. Cash only. After a short time I can take out an equity loan against the house and use that to payback the personal loan reducing the interest rate from whatever absurd amount it is to a reasonable 3-5%.

All I can say is you will have a shitload of fine print to read before getting into trouble unless you want to deal with Guido.

>All I can say is you will have a shitload of fine print to read before getting into trouble
How so. This is a legitimate option as long as there is no repayment penalty on the personal loan and no restrictions on the equity loan.

Do you educate yourself (Books, seminars, programs, researches) on finance? Do people with the goal of financial thrive educate themselves in general?
There are tons and tons of people claiming "its too hard" , "its impossible" or "you need money to make money" etc. Are those trolls who havent even read 10 books on finance - entrepreneurship - business - self-development or educated hard-working smart people?
when i was just starting out in my career, sure. i work with markets so there was a lot to learn. but the last years i havent really been educating myself that much at all. i know enough to get by and do well, and im not really interested in putting in the time / effort needed to do better.

I've just read Kiyosaki's Rich Dad Poor Dad and my mind was blown away. Reading Kiyosaki's Cashflow Quadrant now, it just sounds so easy. I mean, SO easy once you educate yourself and start seeing the opportunities. I've been reading 100-150 pages/day lately.
What I'm wondering is, why are people this ignorant. I mean, don't they wanna thrive? It's just 2+2=4. You put in the time and the efford to improve your financial literacy and emotional intelligence, then you win.

What do you think you owe your parents?
I don't owe them anything. I told them tonight by the time I'm 30 I will take every single penny they've earned from them for treating me how they did for 20 years.
I will not help them at all and the moment I'm finished college they are dead to me, I will never speak or have anything to do with my family the day I graduate, I'll never ever speak to them after that day.

I was recently involved in a motorcycle accident where the other party was at fault 100%, the insurance is trying to pay me out at $1000 plus no more than $3500 for medical expenses. I will be calling tomorrow to deal with the adjustor however I have no idea where to begin, I've done my research and have found that my bike is worth about triple the buy out. Any help is appreciated.

All insurance companies do that. They give you a low estimate and once you complain they give you a proper one. Just bother them until they give you anything close to your motorcycle's value.
>>1368868
This. Thats literally their job to shill you out of your money.
T.e.Lawrence.
No offense but all the riders I know that ride an r6 are cargo shorts, mohawk helmet wearing, shit tier wheelie, weekend riders.
Unfortunate that you had an accident though. Had a similar situation a few years back and they offered me originally 1/4th the value of my bike. Ended up getting about 90% of the value of my bike. If you have any aftermarket parts make sure to include those with receipts because most insurance companies offer like $1-3k coverage on those alone.
Currently at a point in life where I realize I should do something more than just chug along at work and deposit into my 401k/savings.
I've been looking at getting into short term trading recently, as I'm young, but taking home a large salary from work, and can stand to lose some of my money to train a skill that makes significantly more money.
Futures looked like a good idea due to their volatility and leverage, mainly Oil futures is what I've dabbled in.
But I've also heard on many sites about the potential of options, but have never personally traded with those.
What is the best choice for someone who is young, financially stable, and wants to make money in risky markets due to said financial stability.
>I have 10k in savings.
>I put roughly 2k a month into savings also from job
>not afraid to lose 2k a month practicing, i consider it a tution fee.
So you want to take the stability and sacrifice it? Is that what I'm reading here? I understand that you have the ability to withstand some losses, but in options (which work similarly to futures), the risk you are taking is total loss of your invested amount. Buy stable, dividend paying companies instead. Do that because the stability you have will give you time to compound those returns. There is a widespread belief that taking on more risk means greater reward opportunity, and that's simply not true.
>>1368638
You can learn part time?
If so, I'm in.
>>1368698
So if I'm understanding this correctly, trading long term with 10k will make as much as trading short term?
If that's true, I'll go down that path. But where should I start?
